Until it actually goes into pre-production, that sequel is tentative i.e. not for sure. It doesn't even have a rough draft for the script. Like I said, we'll see. Just have to wait. Terminator Salvation had a confirmed sequel with Christian Bale signed on and then all that fell apart behind the scenes. It happens.

Each Terminator film was released by a different studio so there are issues over who has the rights to make the next sequel. Also the current studio that produced Salvation is bankrupt. None of these issues effect "Prometheus" because 20th Century Fox has produced each Alien film and owns all of the rights and they are not bankrupt.

That's why I clearly wrote "fell apart behind the scenes" champ. The reasons behind the sequels not happening are irrelevant. Point is, **** happens (appropriate quote for this section.. HA!). So don't believe it until you see it.

I'm sure there is a lot of research that goes into greenlighting a figure,the movie being successful is a small part,what would be more important is how the movie merchandise sold.a movie can make a billion dollars but if the merchandising sales were horrible why would the invest in making a line of figures.

You'd think that.. but look at Green Lantern. That movie bombed, HT dropped the line. But there was more than a few people who wanted that figure + Sinistro (sp!?) + some of the other Alien GL's. Just like Prometheus, regardless of how it did there's A LOT of interest in some/all of the figures from the film in 1/6 scale. But that seems to be meaningless to HT if they don't think they can make a big enough profit to justify the license/manufacturing/distribution fees.
