Who cares really? Either you like the movie or you don't but it looks like a sequel is in the future. Pages of back and forth over domestic and overseas earnings are getting really old and i'm sick of it. Would like to just discuss the movie and possibilities of the next chapter - good or bad but can we just move on?

Some of us are just having fun systematically dismissing silly claims about Prometheus not being a financial success. 130 million dollar budget with a 402 million dollar worldwide gross + greenlit sequel and record breaking home video sales = success. Period.

Yeah, yeah I know he's trolling but he's trying to come off as trolling with accurate information. Not quite.

Gone are the days of studios obsessing over domestic dollars. Paramount proved that this year when they pulled GI Joe: Retaliation to add 3D to capitalize on Battleship's massively skewed foreign to domestic box office take.

I know but i keep seeing this thread bumped and i check it hoping to find actually news about a hot toys release or pics or something but instead I keep seeing the back and forth on its take domestic and internationally.

You'll see a new thread titled "Hot Toys Prometheus MMS Elizabeth Shaw/David8" or something to that effect when there's any actual news. Until then you can just assume that a thread bump here equates to meaningless discussion about box office/figure wants/critter design, etc. :)

I'm sure there is a lot of research that goes into greenlighting a figure, the movie being successful is a small part, what would be more important is how the movie merchandise sold.a movie can make a billion dollars but if the merchandising sales were horrible why would the invest in making a line of figures.
