So is the QS013 considered the benchmark for 1/4 Vader figures, or has something better come along since its release at the 1/4 scale size?

I've been getting by with this cheap Jakks Pacific setup for my Vader representation. It still looks pretty dope as it's perched up high and not really able to be viewed at close range, but I think it might be time to upgrade to a fully detailed/articulated Vader! 1/4 scale is perfect for this guy - so imposing!

Just sold mine. Why has the after-market on this plummeted so far? Is it because of the 1:6 scale version?

It’s not just this. I think between licensed and 3rd party, the figure market has been flooded. 1/4 figures are pretty amazing, but I think hold less fomo than 1/6 and completists buying habits.

I have literally the same question. I have still not been able to use the boots because I don't get how the peg works. I'm also worried because even if I get the peg out, I don't know how it'll fit into the other leather boot on an angle. I can vaguely recall emailing him and he said that it requires a longer peg and installs on an angle, but he never told me which peg or what diameter the ball would be on the end of the peg. At this point, I might just pack it with blue tac and float him in the new boots, or just continue using the pleather boots until they flake to fabric, lol.

If you figure out a solution, post it here, I'll do the same.

I was getting annoyed by this situation with the boots, so yesterday I decided to just go the drastic route and take apart the HT boots to figure out how to get the pegs out.

As it turns out, there is no way to get the pegs out without taking off the sole. There's a screw that holds the ankle peg in place from the bottom. A pretty important piece of info Rise forgot to mention. :lol

Unfortunately I first dismantled the entire left boot, unstitching the seams, before discovering that removing the sole and taking out the screw does the trick. Not that it really matters anyway since I'll use the leather boots.

Once the screw is out, you can just pull out the peg and plug it into the new leather boots. You dont need to open the Rise boots and insert the screw again, it's a snug fit without it. Finally this is solved!

Here's a current test fit. He's coming together nicely.

Thanks for posting this dude. Finally, this seems solved! How hard was it to get the sole off without damaging the boot? I suppose it doesn't matter since I'll be using the inside of the boot and not the outside, but it would be nice to know.

Is that white Vader stuff 3d printed/custom? Looks good. I almost like the idea of a variant white Vader like the white Boba Fett.

I first inserted an x-acto knife between the sole and foot, and cut all along the edge to loosen the glue.

The sole is also attached to the foot with 3 pegs. On the first foot, the front and middle peg came off immediately. For the one in the heel, I had to wiggle and twist the sole until it came off. So that one was fairly easy.
For the second one though, the pegs wouldn't budge, so I had to cut them with a more heavy duty knife.

I damaged the sole slightly in the process, but nothing really noticeable. Plus as you said, I'm not going to use it anyway.

I heavily reworked and resculpted the HT mask and armor to be more movie accurate, specifically to ESB. This is his current state with grey primer paint on there. I'm almost ready for painting him.
You can follow my progress on Vader here in my customs thread: https://www.collectorfreaks.com/threads/agonistes-star-wars-customs.238985/page-7#post-11180985

I think there was actually a white Vader in one of the 'what if' comics.
