Re: Article: Hot Toys "RoboCop (Battle Damaged Ver) & Alex Murphy Collectible Figures

On eBay it goes for $700 and that's without the BD helmet, which does a pretty good trade there on its own. But like I say, I'm out on that piece, just mentioned it as a rare decent EX :)

As long as you and 5X10 are happy with it thats all that matters, I think I draw the line at 500.00 for a collectable, except the Delorean, but at least with this set 500.00 gets me 2 figures, thats the only thing that justifies it for me at this point.

The announcement of luke at 240.00 has really put a damper on my collecting, I'm going to enjoy this time with you guys while we are here, but I feel like I might be out of this hobby and that makes me sad, if anything maybe I'll just get 1 collectable a year but I don't know. :(

Re: Article: Hot Toys "RoboCop (Battle Damaged Ver) & Alex Murphy Collectible Figures

That's the whole thing dude, I don't have it. Even with that EX in, it was waaay above what I thought it should cost. So I'm right with you on your latest post. But the speed at which Art Figures produced and released Heavy Armoured Special Cop and the price of it too, has been the best thing this year imho. I hope that's the shape of things to come, because the way HT are going with QC and price is not for me :)

I may seem on HT's balls all the time but I don't own a single Iron man and hate them for ever making them, and I don't own a single batman after the ed 209 deal, I am getting that "cop" in Dec. and you are right I hope it is something special, the price is already. I want to get their Gunnar figure as well which is priced nicely and has a great sculpt. Also DiD's Gangster Robert is cheap too, maybe we should support these new guys and let the old die out :( it makes me sad cause my first 1/6th was Sideshow's first as well Frankenstein I've seen the company grow thats why it makes me so sad that the prices are going up, one thing you could always rely on was SS's prices oh well dawning of a new age I guess. :(

The dredd figure is amazing. Plus that price makes even better.

I bet, I think I'm more excited to get him than Robo, especially after all the delays :D

Re: Article: Hot Toys "RoboCop (Battle Damaged Ver) & Alex Murphy Collectible Figures

Yup, they got that thing out in four months, looking exactly like the prototype and for the kind of price we used to pay for HT. Meanwhile RoboCop has been eighteen months since announcement, differs hugely from the proto and costs a massive amount for four panels of diecast and a sound feature you get on a $30 toy. Plus all the QC with scratched armour, paint swirls, non matching finish on the panels and face plates that are virtually impossible to use without damaging them. And then there's ED-209 and the rubber.

Each to their own, but I know what I'm looking back at fondly from 2014 :)

I know if any of those things are wrong when I get mine next week I'll be sure to ship it back to SS until I get a perfect one, swirls might not be so bad, but scratches are a big No No, as for Rubber I saw a video of someone with the original Robo from HT's and the rubber is fine, thing is can't speak for this one till years go by so I just have to wait and see, the gimmicks I could care less for I'm not buying new battery's and don't care for the die cast, I want a good paint job and excellent sculpt, I'm not switching the faces so I'm good there too.

This was so pre-ordered as soon as I could. A must have for any original Robocop fan and also so far it looks wicked. I just hope that HT gives us a Clarence and I will be a happy chappy indeed.

Re: Article: Hot Toys "RoboCop (Battle Damaged Ver) & Alex Murphy Collectible Figures

We think it would, but HT's probably looking at CB as potentially a poor seller. :(

This be true bud, I was going to suggest that they only make a limited run but then again the scalpers would swoop them all up and then charge us OTT prices. :lol

I don't think we'll see many figures like dredd at that price. I think the price point has to do with the fact the figure is unlicensed so basically the price reduction is to do with the less fees that had to be paid for licensing rights. The good thing however is there are more and more companies coming out with better 1/6th scale franchises., i'm thinking dam toys universal soldiers figures and art figures heavy armoured special cop. HT is pumping out more figures then ever but the quality control seems lacking and the prices are definitely reaching ridiculous levels. Competition is welcomed.

The only thing that gives me a sliver of hope for Clarence is Cop Murphy.

Re: Article: Hot Toys "RoboCop (Battle Damaged Ver) & Alex Murphy Collectible Figures

End of the year (2015) for this at the earliest (which we all predicted anyway) according to BudgetStark's video. Like him, I wish people would stop giving false release windows in an attempt (granted the method works) to boost pre-orders and make customers think it will be released early. Ah well, plenty of time to save for the thing at least.

Re: Article: Hot Toys "RoboCop (Battle Damaged Ver) & Alex Murphy Collectible Figures

If there is one figure that "could be released" before it's schedule release date I would think it would be this one. Everything has already been make. The release only needs a new head and paint applications!

Re: Article: Hot Toys "RoboCop (Battle Damaged Ver) & Alex Murphy Collectible Figures

That's one way to look at it, but it's about their production schedule targets as well.

The Iron Man line up needs attention before anything else..

Pretty sure it's more than just a repaint. It better be more than just a repaint! (It is)

This is very true and the whole reason I think it could well come out earlier than anyone thinks. We shall see though, I hope most of the issues with Robo are now ironed out and this will therefore go MUCH smoother.
