Re: Article: Hot Toys "RoboCop (Battle Damaged Ver) & Alex Murphy Collectible Figures

It shouldn't fit. It's movie accurate so the unmasked head should be way too big for the helmet. Hence in the film you never see the helmet come off the unmasked makeup, it doesn't fit. So with the toys you have to do swappable heads like the Enterbay or separate releases like HT. If you do one that fits, you have to have an inaccurate unmasked head* :)

Against my better judgment, I'll humor you. When I said displayed with the BD Robo, I meant placing the helmet at his feet, off to the side, à la the scene in the movie. Oy vey. :slap

Thats the funny thing Robo never stood up with helmet in hand so why have it, like you said to just have it lay at his feet?, like if you posed him standing holding it, it wouldn't be movie accurate. Don't know why they included the sniper rifle either, he is holding it on top of his police car, unless they plan on releasing that too..........

I guess some guys like lots of accessories, especially for the price. :dunno

That's me!! When you look back and say "what is everything that can be released with BD version" then a mirror, drill and Masked accessory (not to put on) would be the missing pieces. I mean they included Baby food. The extra mile would have been a diorama base. Something different from regular version. DX 10 and DX 13 were different bases. Why no here?

On a side note I was watching this today. In the drug warehouse everyone is going to town on Robocop and not a single bullet hole. Walk into a parkade with cops.....many holes!!

Re: Article: Hot Toys "RoboCop (Battle Damaged Ver) & Alex Murphy Collectible Figures

well one could argue that ED209's cannon messed up his body and made it fragile from that point on.

Gonna buy the 2 pack, even if I have to sell my own kidney :lecture

I like the way you think, but I hope you don't have to, sell Blurays or DVD's before doing that, or old figures you can part with that will get the 2.0 treatment down the line, or soon. Still haven't PO mine yet, first flex pay is in Jan. I'll just wait till then. Or maybe later considering they are just shipping out the regular version, so no big hurry.

Little-known RoboCop fact - the warehouse baddies were firing blanks. :lol

Re: Article: Hot Toys "RoboCop (Battle Damaged Ver) & Alex Murphy Collectible Figures

Speaking of accessories.. the stand that comes with this release is UGLY. :lol

That ****ing stupid TRON base, that got recycled for the DX10 - now this. :monkey4

Re: Article: Hot Toys "RoboCop (Battle Damaged Ver) & Alex Murphy Collectible Figures

Supposing it's placed at eye level, will you even notice the stand? Really it's a non-issue. All kinds of alternatives if one doesn't like it.

Re: Article: Hot Toys "RoboCop (Battle Damaged Ver) & Alex Murphy Collectible Figures

Yeah, true.

They could've included a plain black one though.

Re: Article: Hot Toys "RoboCop (Battle Damaged Ver) & Alex Murphy Collectible Figures

Indeed, for the price. Well, one thing this Spook is teaching me, is even fairly popular stuff can get steeply discounted (it seems to be the norm, now, as a matter of fact). I don't think at $300.00 US this has any chance at all of selling out before release, so I'll be holding-off on buying, even once it goes $20 monthly coupon eligible. Also decided I don't need the Murphy fig, so I'll be sticking with just BD Robo. With the money I hopefully save in discounts and reward points, I will buy a black stand! :p

Re: Article: Hot Toys "RoboCop (Battle Damaged Ver) & Alex Murphy Collectible Figures

I don't really get the complaints about the pricing. This is a pretty complex and detailed piece and has a decent amount of accessories. The addition of the Murphy figure is great. I had no big quarrels with the pricing here.

Re: Article: Hot Toys "RoboCop (Battle Damaged Ver) & Alex Murphy Collectible Figures

This thing is price gouging at it's most blatant - what's not to get. :huh

Go back & read a little about what's been discussed so far, for some context.

Re: Article: Hot Toys "RoboCop (Battle Damaged Ver) & Alex Murphy Collectible Figures

I know, I understand how the pricing is getting outrageous compared to what it used to be. I just mean the relative pricing on this item compared to what's out there currently. It's just an inconvenient truth that these figures are getting pricier and pricier. I don't know, maybe I'm in the minority here but I didn't mind shelling out the money for these quality figures. But I do understand the Other side of the coin as well.

As someone who does mind shelling out for figures I think the pricepoint for me where this become slightly ridiculous is the 300 dollar mark. If you think about it 4 of those figures will set you back 1,200 dollars worth and that's not including shipping so yeah its becoming too pricey for my liking.

Clean Robocop should have either included 50% more diecast or been priced at $250. Then the battle-damaged figure (where you get the super-intricate paint applications and elaborate head detailing in exchange for diecast and electronics) priced at $245 would have felt fair. But $299 and $295 is just unreasonable.

100% agree with those prices and I would be onboard with the BD minus my request for the handful of missing accessories….

My first impression on price when the Regular Robocop went up for preorder, was that the figure was in the $250 price range BUT because this was a “DIECAST” AND contained sound features, it justifies the leap to $300. So it was a “special figure”.

Now the BD, Same body with Battle damaged tweaks and paint apps (chest BD already done), same hands, same spike hand, same stand. NO die cast, No sound feature, No swappable face plates etc etc

With ALL NEW Head Sculpt….. $5 less - That’s way too expensive.

Re: Article: Hot Toys "RoboCop (Battle Damaged Ver) & Alex Murphy Collectible Figures

honestly, i have reached a stage where i dont worry abt these prices. My customs hit me way way harder. so as and when i buy any of these i dont worry too much. However, i would agree that there is nothing special to the figure except that awesome sculpt detail. I am totally planning to pass the murphy figure. I am not that big a fan of robocop movies. I like many others way way better and i am just buying the figure cause its quite unique and very artsy. Thats about it. But yeah, for that its very steep...

basically i will stick to 1 BD Robocop to represent that movie. Thats all...
