If I had to pick one with no alterations I'd go with ANH, for various reasons, plus the droid. Mine is a mix and match of the two figures though, but I've kept all the stock parts for the ANH Vader in case I want to go back to how it originally was.

You can never miss with ANH Vader. Gloves. That's the only thing which is unfortunate, everything else is just nitpicking. Well yeah, the whole light up lightsaber or sound sucks big time (i can't understand how anybody could pass it to production), but you don't have to use it.

Yeah exactly. And those talking the most on any new best ever Vader thread will be those that missed out on R1 Vader.

Exactly. Both can be improved, but stock ANH remains my favorite of the two.

I just acquired ANH Vader and Chirrut. Dumping my Marvel collection to stick with Star Wars

Besides this post I have yet to see anyone compare it to a hasbro, why would you say that? This compared to hasbro is completely ridiculous. I have this, ANH, sideshow DX and imo the RO is the best of the three. I am looking forward to adding the ROTJ to the mix too.

Hyperbole in action, on my part. I just noticed the recent negativity to this figure while just earlier this year it was "worth it's weight in gold."

Just so that you all know: I have a MISB, nicely-priced HT ANH Vader for sale.
I wouldn't mind offering a discount, if I was allowed to keep the hands and gauntlets (which I need for a custom), so that the buyer could buy the RO hands without going through the pain of selling the ANH hand set.

Wait until Tarkin is officially released and goes up for PO. Guaranteed there will be a renewed, heightened interest in ANH Vader.

I've got both ANH and RO Vader so am pretty happy with those for 2 different displays. Especially now with Tarkin coming.

PS Good decision about ditching Marvel for Star Wars too !! I think it's going to be a great few years for SW collectors and Hot Toys.
