LOL, yup. On the one hand, I do not fault the actor from wanting to don the suit. Who wouldn't? But, in reality, it just looked wrong!

I think they are under, just hard to tell since the cape covers part of the chest piece.

Not hard. The line is angled, so not part of armor. Watch when he walks in. Cape line flows outside of that "other line" which looks like his tunic-over-armor.

Never understood why the filmmakers would brag about making a true OT match-up and then have Vader wearing his tunic incorrectly as a direct follow up to moments later in ANH -- forcing fanboys around the globe to come up with idiotic storylines like "Vader was in a rush and just threw on his robes before boarding the Tantive IV", etc. It makes much more sense that HT got it wrong and RO got the tunic placement right (for ANH).

Is the Imperial who is walking into the war room Tarkin...? Looks too young but he does have the ears. Maybe this scene happened years ago and its younger Tarkin? Early Jyn's Dad years.

I see the cape covering much, but then I see a "cloth line" that slightly covers the "gunmetal" more on his left side (screen right) than the matching gunmetal on the other side.

Could be shadow I suppose. Hoping not. Unless this scene is not in time with ANH -- meaning perhaps its years before. Anyway, HD video will be up soon.

Got to love the slightly red eyes.

I definitely agree. The robes look like they're over the armor. Your point about the right side makes it obvious. HT got it wrong, but it's not a hard issue to fix, just put the armor underneath when you get it. Or better yet, maybe HT will fix the mistake on their end and save us the trouble.

And red lenses are a nice touch! I take back what I said in the ANH Vader thread. I don't need both Vaders. I'm thinking with the robes over the armor, this will be the Vader I'm looking for.

Yep could certainly be a flashback to show Erso's early years and having a young Tarkin would make sense. I didn't catch that the first time watching.

Yes! One of the most undervalued characters in the whole saga. Reading the book about him made me like him even more. Maybe HT will announce a Tarkin now that he's in more than 1 movie (ROTS doesn't count, he was never really acknowledged).
