Well the robes definitely aren't over the armor in THAT shot.

And is it me, or does he look a little too broad shouldered now? Something about the basic proportions just doesn't feel very ANH to me. Or like any Vader from the OT.

Vader looks different in every movie he's in. Of course he's not going to look identical.

I'm just glad he's back. I want this to be the Vader I was hoping to see in 2005 for ROTS but never got.

The cape seems awfully thin and maybe more billowy like the EP.3 cape....

Something about the shoulder area and the cape looks a little off. Then again, as mentioned, you would have said the same thing (that something about him looked "off") when you saw pictures of how he looked in each OT film subsequent ANH. He never looks exactly identical in each film he's in.

Yeah, he does have a somewhat "generic Vader" non-ANH look about him but everyone seems to be saying he gets beat up a bit in RO to explain why he looks so shiny and new here.

The proportions do seem off in a couple of different ways, but the ANH costume is so specific it would have been hard to match the whole look exactly.

He does look great in that photo. If we see Vader at the end of the movie I'm sure by then the robes will be over the armor. I like this look though, with the robes underneath.

Yeah I know the costume looks a bit different in every movie, but his underlying proportions usually remain the same. I did a quick comparison from the same basic angle, and you can see Prowse's shoulders slope down a lot more and don't appear nearly as wide.





I agree it'll still be awesome to see Vader again in the movie. I just wish they had captured what he looked like a bit better.

The RO Vader just isn't the ANH Vader. There's so many differences seen just here. But its OK; it wouldn't be Vader if he actually looked exactly the same in every movie like people assume he does.

Regarding the arms, perhaps the hands-on-belt are causing Prowse's shoulders to slant downward; relaxed.

They need to fit the helmet better, it looks like it's just sitting on his shoulders. Looks too low, like the guy doesn't have a neck.

Yeah keep in mind that 95% of people seeing this movie would never notice the difference.

Yeah but David Prowse isn't Vader anymore. What do you want them to do? It's impossible to make it look like Vader from the 70s/80s without cloning Prowse himself.

From what we've seen, I'm not sure what more people could ask for. Atleast Vader isn't perfectly symmetrical, tall and lanky like he was on screen 11 years ago.

I do think Vader looks great. I am not overly obsessed with all the details. Overall I liked how Vader had the battle weary armor in anh but empire was my favorite look for Vader. This is much better than revenge of the Sith where Hayden was not big enough to fill out the suit properly. The way they folded the gloves looked like a child in big brothers clothes. I am hoping the movie is great as it looks interesting to me

Ha yeah, I definitely agree there. Much like with Chewie in TFA, it may not be a great match with the original, but it's still lightyears better than the atrocity that we got in ROTS.
