This looks great, but I might wait until they'll (hopefully) make a Dagobah Landing version.

OK, all jokes aside. You could probably achieve that wet look with some sort of modelling fluid made for that type of look for water effects etc. But I'd definitely be trying it out on something else before I put it on my HT figure.

As far as a HT separate version as in the pic. I really think there is a snowballs chance in hell of that happening.

I’m interested in this figure but if it becomes $400+ CANADIAN it might be tough to bite. QUI GONN is around $325 CANADIAN for perspective

Adding in shipping, taxes ... there?s almost no doubt in my mind that?s what it?s going to land at.

I'm down for 2 as well.
I assume PO next week so they can space them out a little.

I wish it would be next week but I'm not that optimistic. I do feel this one will actually get preorder though and not lost to the black hole. I just hope it gets preorder in 2020 and releases in 2021. I also hope it comes in one of those radical ESB 40th anniversary boxes.

It should come with Daks dog tags and letter he wrote to his wife and child.

"Right now I feel I can take on the whole Empire myself."

Maybe if Dak had spent more time focusing on training instead of running his mouth, he wouldn't have got smoked and let down his team. There's a reason Luke spent the battle yelling at him. Way to go, Dak.

Yeah, the Hoth outfits are tricky - Luke Hoth also has a "fat" (Tauntaun) and "thin" (Wampa cave) look and it's down to individual preference which looks right.

Even with this outfit it's hard because he's in the puffy look as he exits the speeder and runs under the ATAT but when he's up doing the saber thing he's in a thinner version.

I just really hope that if this does go to PO that they tweak the helmet paint apps - to have a helmet that's 100% accurate would be just awesome.

:exactly:

More pics because there aren't any on this page. Proto or not, this is figure of the year for me!

This figure looks stupendous. A lot of the parts on it look superior to the SSC version, but as I’ve mentioned and many others seem to be saying as well, I’m not really a fan of the jacket for the specific look of RG Luke that I’d want. This iteration HT is teasing looks more like a Dagobah landing version, while the outfit on the SSC figure looks more accurate to the Hoth battle to my eye. The slight shine of pleather material of the coat combined with it looking flatter than the SSC coat to me gives it the appearance that he just climbed out of the water in the swamp on Dagobah.

Gloves and boots on this figure, and maybe the chest box, on the SSC figure and I’d be pretty happy with that RG Luke.

Actually come to think of it, I’m thinking I like the SSC gloves better. The slightly lighter color on these I feel is more accurate, but they don’t really look like “gloves” to me and the seam between the hand and the cuff of the gloves seems a bit more prominent on this figure than the SSC figure. The SSC ones look a bit thicker and look more as if he’s indeed wearing gloves.

Yeah the SSC definitely captures his overall Hoth look better, and I can understand why that would hold more appeal for people. But for me the outfit just looks so much cooler when it's all dirtied up and weathered like we see it here.

It's good to have both representations. I like to Hoth puffiness and also the Dagobah landing look. Both SS and HT figs are winners.

Well now we know why Sideshow didn't double dip. Although I think there would still be a reasonable market out there interested in both versions.

Easy way to fix that is that this figure is probably 2 years away at this stage. If your start putting $16 away a month from now, you will have the $400 when it comes out :yess:

Bo doesn't like it when people try to use the Jedi mind trick on him.

Very ready to pre-order this figure, even have one of those old SS Hoth Luke stands standing by so I can get rid of the likely muffin topper.

Sorry if this has been broached already, but wouldn't the X-wing version be more iconic?

For me that's like asking whether ANH or ESB is better. All of it is because of ANH, but ESB is the more operatic of the two. I've gone back and forth about the 2 pilot Lukes and the 2 films in my head for years. I think I've settled on ESB for both the suit and the film.

Same here. Both are iconic in their own right. But ESB is my favorite SW film and I like the RG suit better than the R5 suit, so I’m more than fine with the former serving as my pilot Luke representation.
