DX Indiana Jones was PERS at it's best! The sculpt is superb and the feature was implemented extremely well. I'd like Hot Toys to just reuse that for their Han Solo, the eyes and likeness to Ford were dead on.

DX Indy is all kinds of messed up. In my opinion, Jack Sparrow DX is one of Hot Toys' best, both as a straight-up figure and as a good implementation of PERS.

This, boys and girls, is how you do sarcasm. Dripping, wet, acid-washed sarcasm. :lol

Well I'm only going to buy ANH Figures if I can afford them. About the only potential Hot Toys figure Im going to buy(because I dont think they'll screw him up) is Chewbacca.

But lord knows I cant afford a line of $200+ per figure.

Preview pic of HT's booth at the Singapore Toy Show starting the 6th. It'll probably be just this with no actual figures. Which is bloody hilarious.

Re: Hot Toys - STAR WARS 1/6th & 1/4th Figures from Episode I-VII + New Interviews

Good grief that booth looks to be a showcase for more stormtroopers and clones. May be time to start selling off the Sideshow pieces.

Re: Hot Toys - STAR WARS 1/6th & 1/4th Figures from Episode I-VII + New Interviews

They start with troopers, I'm gonna puke.

:rotfl

I agree! I know many here were unhappy with the troopers Sideshow put out, but they are certainly not as in need of updating as the human characters! It'll be Sideshow's barrage of clones all over again with just a smattering of humans here and there spread out over years and years!

That's a great idea to stick with Ep IV figures but will be very hard to do. Lol

HT troopers is very much in line with their Iron Man thinking. And highly likely.

Yes, that's pretty much my worst nightmare with this line. The thing is I've got a feeling if HT launches a line a troopers they will absolutely blow away the SS versions (at a 50%-75% premium they'd better). They will likely be slightly smaller, heavier, with sturdier materials and even more screen accurate sculpts. That will send collectors into a spiral. And once they have folks hooked, the repaint frenzy will begin. And as far as these clone repaints: Fool me once (Gentle Giant), shame on you... Fool me twice (Sideshow), shame on me... Fool me three time (Hot Toys), I'm a hopeless fool. Arrgh!!

No necessarily first up though.. capisce? :stick

..& nexus - so what if they do. It's tough teety to all those eager beavers that have bought up a storm ever since SSC started the wonky trooper brigade in the first place. :lol

I've bought one SSC EpII clone to date, & I'll probably get one or two from ROTS - then I'm golden.

Re: Hot Toys - STAR WARS 1/6th & 1/4th Figures from Episode I-VII + New Interviews

Ready for pre-order, I hope they do show up with Stormies and Sandies at the show. I wanna see HT hit the OT running. I'd love to see them just start nailing the main characters from Ep4 Boom, Boom, Boom, Chewbacca, Boom. :lol

Jesus, I wanted a C3PO for years, maybe going to have three kick *** ones eventually. Possibilities are endless, Im gonna enjoy the ride though. :blissy:blissy

Re: Hot Toys - STAR WARS 1/6th & 1/4th Figures from Episode I-VII + New Interviews

i can see them starting with an Episode 7 Trooper...

Re: Hot Toys - STAR WARS 1/6th & 1/4th Figures from Episode I-VII + New Interviews

I've got 7-8 Sideshow Troopers. I don't buy them all just a decent representation. If HT ends up being a significant upgrade, as I think it will, I'll sell SS and trade up. My concern is more that HT will simply money grab the hell out of the repaints a la Iron Man armors, and not pay as much attention to the main human characters--Luke, Leia, Han, Lando, Old Ben, Chewbacca, Anakin, Padme, Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon, Mace, Dooku, Palpatine, not to mention the new characters from Eps VII-IX. Given that HT is able to produce a full line up of Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy, you would think these shouldn't be a huge deal for them to develop these core characters. As long as they produce the core humans in a timely fashion (2-3 years), they can make clone variants until the cows come home.

Re: Hot Toys - STAR WARS 1/6th & 1/4th Figures from Episode I-VII + New Interviews

Hot Toys will only be able to product what LFL/Disney let them produce. - and don't forget that they share a license with Sideshow, which may or may not have higher priority. BTW, while they produce a ton of Iron Man, there are a lot of unique mold, it's not clone-style repainting.

If they can do justice to Groot, they can do justice to Chewbacca.
