Clothes or no clothes, why would the robe and cape already be on him even before he comes off the table? That's just sloppy.

I'd chalk it up to artistic license, or a stylistic decision. The facemask coming down and the helmet being plunked on, followed by that mechanical breathing sound, are meant to be the final steps of the transformation process.

Perhaps it would be anticlimactic for newly-formed Darth Vader to be ****** off the table and bedecked in flowing robes and a cape, à la a Disney princess movie.

It's symptomatic of the issues facing the entire PT.

I would have preferred to see surgical robots working like crazy on a charred body without any robes. Other mechanical apparatus hooked up to him to keep him alive. Then possibly a robot or someone working on part of his suit somewhere else. Then a short scene were some under armor or whatever he's supposed to have under the suit gets put on. Then a cut-away scene and when the full costume reveal is supposed to happen, he can be coming out of some OTHER chamber/room, but not the surgical/repair table.

That's a head sculpt I don't care about one iota if they **** it up.

This is awesome news, glad I held out with not buying Ssc figures.

It's unlikely that Hot Toys is going to release anything Sideshow has recently put out, so as long as you're comfortable with waiting and getting very specific and likely very focused characters, you'll be OK. Otherwise I'd say you're missing out on a bunch of great Star Wars collectibles.

Isn't their first release going to be an Anikin + Vader in the same box? I can totally see Hot Toys redoing all the main characters that SS did from 6+ years ago... Lets be honest those characters likeness are really hurting... so it would be a easy money maker for Hot Toys.... What I don't expect Hot Toys to make is any Clone Troopers, SS pretty much milked that character to death...

I can see that. But I doubt we'll see a character that Sideshow just released and is still selling, come out first. The Anakin/Vader thing was a rumor. I may have even been one of the first people to suggest those specific figures as a two-pack earlier in the thread - not that I was suggesting it would ever actually happen. The most reliable rumor I've seen is for a smuggler Han first.
