As far as the earlier suggestion of a possible Greedo.. that's VERY wishful thinking.

They don't need to / it's unlikely, because:

a) the SSC figure is great

b) it's more than good enough to not need a redo.
The clothes are the only thing that could be better - but again, they're fine really.

c) it was probably never on HT' radar anyway.

I see Tarkin as a SSC release. He's really more at the level of Greedo and that level's SSC territory from now on...

Tarkin's secondary, but he's no Greedo (and hell no I don't want SSC doing him). Gonna keep hope alive for HT Tarkin!

Totally agreed. For me SSC nailed Greedo in all his cheesy glory. It could only be improved by idealizing him and making him better looking than he actually appeared in film. I was OK with that for Bossk but Greedo's perfect as-is.

Yeah, needless to say their effort with Bossk was a disappointment for me.

Agreed on Tarkin too Sol - he's important alright. However, I still say they're not concerned with him.

Well, can't say I would be disappointed to see HT 3PO and R2 (though I'd likely pass on the 3PO if it offered nothing to distinguish it from Tamashii). I'd pick-up an HT R2 in a heartbeat, but still feel it'd be a little close to SSC's release. This is if we're talking about the rumoured six figure ANH line-up. If we're talking the droids from any movie, then my bet is they'll release them under the Ep VII banner so that they can maximize sales from ANH. We should really get a betting pool going on this (...for "Imperial credits" as opposed to dollars ). Might be a fun diversion while we wait for announcements and it'd be neat to look back and see how close or off we were.

Yeah, but again - who knows how they're planning their release schedule.

They could announce the next couple of figures at any given point; 3 months away - or a year, & not necessarily in film order or groups either. Han & Chewie showed up as a pair, cool. The droids may be different, in that they may want to time them right (separating them perhaps), but yeah.. who knows.

It would be foolish of them to attack R2 and 3po on the heels of Sideshow. I think they are going to cover newer ground first. The human characters especially.

I know of only 2 other figs in full development right now. My source never said anything about 11 figs revealed before the end of 2015. I know they have designs and concept art for way more than that. If I had to make an educated guess based on some very reliable info I would say we will see about 5-6 OT figs revealed(including Han and Chewie) and 1 or 2 PT, before we start seeing Ep VII stuff mixed in. And from what I've heard HT EpIII Anakin is still coming. I may be wrong but my contact seems pretty sure.

How is that disappointing? 2 weeks ago you were content with just the thought of HT doing SW...there is a lot coming...just maybe not before the end of 2015. Think what HT has done with Iron Man, SW will make it look small in comparison.

Yeah but, 5-6... including han/chewie? So 3-4 before the movie. That sounds really light to me.

11 in 15 months sounds more like HT going for the money -- with the license they've been coveting for 10 years.


Perhaps we'll get something inbetween. I don't think they'll constantly do "sets" either. Luke/Leia seems like a slam dunk given the casting though. Perhaps that would be the last "set".



But anyway, as we learned with the Prequels, the best part is often the simple anticipation of 'what may come'...

I really want to replace my Star Wars collection with HT offerings. I also want to minimize my Star Wars collection to just the key characters (tier 1).

I have way too much Sideshow Star Wars stuff that just ain't that great anymore. Maybe in 10 years time when its nostalgic.

Of the 42 pieces I have -- which is far less that most here -- I could easily pack away 25-30 of them. Gone would be Bespin Han, Qui-Gon, Kit Fisto, Plo Koon, Farmboy Luke, Smuggler Han, Leia, Jedi Luke, Obi-Wan ROTS, both Anakins, Windu, Assaj, just about everything up until the last 3 years of creatures and robots and troopers.


Keepers: Emperor, Tusken Raider, Bossk, IG-88, Greedo, Snowtrooper, Sandtrooper, Stormtrooper, Vader... a few others I can't remember.

I don't bro... its just funny how no matter how good the news is, there are always people who are not happy, or complain that the head sculpt is off because Harrison Ford has 763,924 pores on his face and the HT only has, 710,976... or that the fact that a real rooted hair Chewy was impossible to mass produce, but now that it is a reality...well something looks off. I love them and I know they are expensive, but they are dolls at the end of the day. Wor-Gar, just know I am not singling you out bro, just people in general.
