Mine's just turned up from Forbidden Planet, and it's the Sideshow Exclusive version, happy days! There's a small scuff on the left side of the breastplate, but I can live with that. Beautiful figure. The Luke headsculpt is superb in hand, with a light "sweating" effect on the paintwork. Really brings it to life. The Stormtrooper helmet is incredibly detailed, and the fact you can swap heads is a real bonus.

They're all Sideshow Exclusives. There isn't another version.

And looking at the prices on both Forbidden Planets it would've been cheaper to have ordered direct from Sideshow - about £50-£55 cheaper including shipping and tax. (Plus it would have earned reward points).

I'm finding that it's even cheaper ordering direct than going to places in the UK that are habitually far cheaper than the Forbidden Planets with their fake RRPs.

So true i picked this up from ss live chat gave me $25 discount with shipping taxes to uk £187 plus rewards think forbidden was £239

Both FPs have him at £239.99 plus delivery now. And they always invent a ridiculous recommended retail price to make it appear a good deal to the uninitiated.

That's true, however if there's a QC issue (which with my luck there invariably is) their customer service is second to none. I used to shop with Sideshow until I had defective figure's and their response was "we've checked the rest of the stock and they're all like that". FP may be more expensive, but I'm happy to pay the extra for the peace of mind.

I know some people don't like the eyes on this figure, but to me they give the HS character - Luke looks like he's thinking about something or reacting to something rather than staring neutrally into the distance. I'm not saying I prefer this to farm boy Luke but they're both excellent for different reasons.

I think the eyes on this figure are incredible. Very lifelike.

Mine arrived today, along with my Sandtrooper (which is an amazing figure), and I was honestly surprised at just how much I like him. The "sweaty" effect is subtle but helps sell the realism.

The likeness is odd. It is 100% Luke Skywalker, but I can't say it's a perfect Mark Hamill likeness. It's strange that it can be one without being the other.

I'm interested in this figure but is the Stormtrooper helmet eyes plastic lens or just painted.....this is vital to my decision in buying him.

Damn..I didn't even think about this....I hope they are green like the Spacetrooper's eyes. Can someone confirm? Mine is sitting at UPS and this may impact my decision to keep as well. If painted I may exchange for the sandtrooper (assume his eyes are plastic).

Looks like they skipped out on the standard Stormtrooper but Vader, Sandtrooper, and other figures started getting the plastic lens w/ more realistic look.

When you get yours you can confirm it for me lol.

Regular stormtrooper has them too. And I believe someone said that Luke does as well but it's slightly more obscured by the internal detailing.

That's what I was afraid of......I saw how detailed the inner helmet was but no plastic lens is a let down.

So it's confirmed no plastic lens on look or regular storm trooper similar to the Spacetrooper?? If this is case may exchange for sandtrooper before even opening.

I can't say for sure but if I understand the statement correctly other than more detailed inner helmet the outer is the same as standard Stormtrooper.....meaning no plastic lens but painted only.

I said the opposite above, that they all have them. If you don't think the regular stormtrooper has them, take the helmet off and shine a light through it. For the Luke helmet it's the same from what I read earlier in the thread, but it's possible the light doesn't hit it as easily due to some of the internal detailing, so maybe it's less apparent. I get my Luke figure today or tomorrow so can't check first hand.

It's possible that due to the helmet being a bit raised (by the pauldron and breating tube) on both the Sandtrooper and Spacetrooper that more light is let into the helmet and so the green lenses are bit more visible on those two.

LOL, yes it has green effect on the eyes but isn't the eyes not the same material as the Sandtrooper.....which I heard has more of a hard plastic lens vs rubberized lens material on the Stormtrooper but correct me if I'm wrong.

Regular Stormtrooper has tinted dark green lenses too. It's the first thing I noticed when I got it a few months ago.
Right.

Yeah the Stormies have them. Maybe they cut down on the thickness or gauge of plastic?
