LOL, yes it has green effect on the eyes but isn't the eyes not the same material as the Sandtrooper.....which I heard has more of a hard plastic lens vs rubberized lens material on the Stormtrooper but correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't remember ever reading that. The Sandtrooper lens is supposed to be flat, not curved, as that's how they were in the film. Don't know if that's the difference you might be talking about. Spacetrooper is curved as well, I think.

Maybe they cut down on the thickness or gauge of plastic?
That's a possibility too.

Fair enough...I need to see all of these in person now ;)

WOW, I'm glad I stopped by here! I just checked the status of my Sandie and apparently he is in town and is out for delivery. :woo

Yeah the Stormies have them. Maybe they cut down on the thickness or gauge of plastic?

Thanks! Maybe someone who has their Luke in hand can take a similar photo!

I couldn't resist the urge to order this, it is too iconic- I know I would regret not ordering it as soon as it sells out and I don't foresee a 2.0 version. The only problem is now I have to buy Han in disguise when it is released.

The eye's on Luke's helmet are the same curved material, but have a solid plastic backing and end up looking black in most light.

Luke, and the regular Stormtroopers are all based on the "hero" helmet, while the Sandtroopers are based on the "stunt" version.

It's actually really impressive that Hot Toys made a screen accurate stunt helmet for the Sandtrooper instead of just reusing the basic Hero version. Most people would probably not have even noticed.

Mine arrived today, along with my Sandtrooper (which is an amazing figure), and I was honestly surprised at just how much I like him. The "sweaty" effect is subtle but helps sell the realism.

The likeness is odd. It is 100% Luke Skywalker, but I can't say it's a perfect Mark Hamill likeness. It's strange that it can be one without being the other.

That Sandtrooper looks fantastic!!!! Im so tempted to get it.

Wow, looks like a totally different figure. Been kinda hesitant on getting pilot Luke but now i might consider it.

That looks amazing, would've been an instacop for me if that was the head they offered for pilot luke.

The whole set is too expensive for me now. I think Id just wait till I can get it cheaper or for the HT version in about 1-2 years time :lol

I'm interested in this figure but is the Stormtrooper helmet eyes plastic lens or just painted.....this is vital to my decision in buying him.

Luke's Stormtrooper helmet is difficult to photograph because light barely passes through but I think this should answer your question...the lenses on Luke's Stormtrooper helmet are definitely NOT painted lenses and in fact are the same green tinted bubble lenses as in the HT Stormtrooper.
