They're not. Maybe we'll see another release with Han and Luke or maybe the situation will change, but this release, right now, is not it. Look at the mock-box artwork. Stormtrooper 2-pack. Period.

Please, if people want to discuss a Han and Luke disguise release, start another thread. If folks want to discuss clones, start another thread or go to one of the many clones threads already under way.

We all have to self-police to keep the signal level up. :lecture Otherwise, pretty soon this thread will need to be re-titled to Clone Wars versus Star Wars.

Firstly, I think he was being facetious.

Secondly, the Stormtroopers *were* originally intended to be clones (see link posted earlier) but have been retconned into humans by Disney via Star Wars Rebels.

Lucas had no idea what he wanted to do and everything was in a constant state of change from the early 70's through to the end of the 90's. Does anyone believe Lucas when he stated the Special Editions were to change things that should have always been that way from the start? No, it's just an extension of his constant revisionism, the guy just can't leave something alone, even if he runs the risk of over-working and ruining it.

It's too late to nip this clone business in the bud, but never too late to apply Lucas' famous revisionist principles.

It's not about that. It is about talking and discussing in a thread about some protos we only think we know what they are. We don't know for sure if these are just Stormtroopers or Han and Luke in disguise so far. We just have opinions without real facts. A proto box and some proto pics doesn't mean that will be the final product. That is why as of yet we shouldn't start a thread about Han and Luke in disguise until we know for sure what we get here. We need an official announcement and then we know.

hmm, maybe i want twelve stormys instead of ten... hmm, I cannot decide, hurry up HT & SS put these up for po so I can dedicate my paychecks to you!!! Definitely rekindled my interest in star wars. I wasn't in the 1/6 collecting when SS first did their original stormtroopers, but I did have a big group of sandtroopers at one point. Regretfully sold the majority off and just kept four and my dewback. still miss them, but these will happily fill the void!

I don't understand the whole clone argument. They're different sizes onscreen and you never see their faces. They can be all different regular people or clones from different templates. Or clones mixed with regular people. I see no problem at all. But I liked the Battlefront mission when you fight against a rebellious batch of Jango clones and the Empire decides to start using other templates.

I know that by "we" you aren't including everyone in the thread, because some people know exactly what these figures are. At the very least exactly what we've been told they are, by Hot Toys themselves.

Maybe they're Ewoks in disguise.

What it's about for me is being able to take the word of the producer and what they're advertising so clearly. You can speculate all you want, that Batman is Superman, that Superman is Batman, maybe Mon Mothma in Wookie disguise too. Everyone recognizes the similarity to Han and Luke's differing heights, the mouse droid, the heavy blaster and even the grated floor pattern on the stands. But these are being very specifically advertised as just troopers, regardless of what may come down the line.

Maybe the product will change completely, maybe it will never be released, maybe a Han and Luke 2-pack will use exactly the same Stormtrooper bodies, but these conspiracy theories are tiresome and just totally off topic. Some people just aren't satisfied unless there's conflict or some off the wall debate going on in a thread. I suppose talking about the actual subject matter is just too passé.

You are right, it is all complete speculation at this point!

The height difference in the two pack is a great idea. I will definitely want two of them and I am glad that there is a variance.

the clone wars wasn't really portrayed I thought it would be
always thought it was about an evil clone army vrs other clones and Jedi not droids, but oh well that was before the dark times, before the pt.
oh and all Jedi lived long lives not just yoda, I always imagined Ben being 500yrs old or so
