Re: Hot Toys Stormtrooper.

Personal feelings about the movie aside, how can there be any arguments about height when there's pics like these?

I don't think there is a height argument? I am stoked that they are making the troopers vary in whatever way possible. I think there has just been much debate on If it's Han and Luke or not. I think they will be inevitable.

Re: Hot Toys Stormtrooper.

Real questions here.

Do people really want a Han and Luke stormtrooper set?
Also, why do people like them in the stormtrooper disguise so much?

I never really understood the love for that scene. To me it is not there iconic look. I would not display them, let alone buy them.

Not trying to be ignorant or rude but just would like to here others opinions.

Re: Hot Toys Stormtrooper.

I think it is an iconic look.............some of the best scenes in ANH were when they were disguised as stormtroopers. I didn't buy ssc's version but I can certainly see the appeal for people. Maybe not their most iconic look when you think of them but definitely iconic none the less.

Re: Hot Toys Stormtrooper.

Looks like a SE-14C....or 14R

Cool, thanks for the info! :duff

Do people really want a Han and Luke stormtrooper set?

I want them because I missed out on Sideshow's offering. :D

Also, why do people like them in the stormtrooper disguise so much?

Because, like Barry said, it's iconic & one of the best sequences in ANH. :rock

Re: Hot Toys Stormtrooper.

Anyone know what the blaster pistol designation/description in the lower right hand side of the pic?

Looks like a SE-14C....or 14R

Looks like the SE-14r:

Se-14r.jpg

The SE-14r, sometimes referred to as the Imperial repeating pistol, was an upgrade of the standard BlasTech Industries SE-14 blaster pistol,[SUP][1][/SUP] produced for Imperial officers, stormtroopers, pilots, and other crew. It was considered a backup weapon to the standard-issue E-11 blaster rifle.[SUP][2][/SUP]

Behind the scenes

The SE-14r is from publicity photos for A New Hope and not actually seen in any of the films, however, a similar blaster not in Imperial service, the SE-14C is seen being used by Dr. Evazan in the Mos Eisley cantina.

Re: Hot Toys Stormtrooper.

Talk to anyone involved and they'll tell you it was George himself who reckoned it looked seamless and great :lol

Needs his fricking eyes checked then. I could have done better if I'd scribbled on the negative with a crayon.

Re: Hot Toys Stormtrooper.

Shame George didn't decide to restore Han shooting first in the latest version, like he removed Luke's scream in the Cloud City shaft. That was a welcome backflip.

And if only they'd delete Vader's "Nooooooo" from Ep III.

Re: Hot Toys Stormtrooper.

*waits for Vintij to come in and reiterate for the billionth time that he doesn't like SSC's Vader*

:lol - ehh.. how many times can you list things. "They have eyes, yet they cannot see.."

This was covered in the Vader thread.

:lecture :lecture :lecture

...

Man - I thought I'd let the dust settle a bit before diving into this thread.

I'm really in heaven right now.

Re: Hot Toys Stormtrooper.

SSC Vader is great and will look better with two same height Hot Toys Stormtroopers that are clones.

Re: Hot Toys Stormtrooper.

I wonder how many billion of these will be produced? I'll pick up the two pack and likely a few others later to have a small assembly since one cannot have too many storm troopers. I'd guess cost will ensure these won't sell out too soon like SS version.

Re: Hot Toys Stormtrooper.

I wonder if they will be released as stormtroopers but come with a Han and Luke head sculpts
