It's likely this stuff has only been in development since they knew the license was coming - Luke was far too long ago, unless they're breaking out old designs. I can't see it taking more than a year. Hot Toys has an insane amount of experience in development and procurement and I'm sure they can turn things over very quickly. When you're at this level, these things aren't as challenging as one might imagine and every figure release is an iterative process in many ways. The most elusive thing will always remain attention to (small) details. That last few percent is always the hardest, and that's not something unique to this industry.

When has Hot Toys ever released a build-a-bear part-it-out-and-be-left-with-incomplete-figures release? More than likely they'll just release a full Han and Luke in Stormtrooper disguise set when they''re good and ready. Why would they leave money on the table by having you part out another figure? That just doesn't make any business sense whatsoever.

Well, they have done it, notably with the first Joker and first Bank Robber Joker.

Are you talking about reconfigurable figure in one box or that they sold a head sculpt alone or advertised that you should take apart one release to add a part or two to a different release (ending up with a ton of parts left over)?

Yeah also if I may speak for myself I was displaying my opinion, its under my opinion that these are Luke and Han, from the evidence I've gathered, I didn't know this was a court house and I had to watch my tongue Judge Judy(Pixel), this a forum. You gotta have 2 sides to everything otherwise we have a Hot Toys Han that everyone loved with no opinion on how it doesn't look like Harrison Ford, oh sorry I guess I'm not allowed to say that. I can't pre-order this product, because it isn't even on the board. Just like Ripley with Powerloader. Until they release a official statement its all speculation really. Notice how the Stormtroopers say near the nameplate that they are prototypes awaiting for Licensor's agreement? Could be waiting on Mark Hamil or Harrison Ford, or could be waiting on Disney to release the Stormtrooper likeness who knows? Only Hot Toys and their artist.

The Sets are NOT incomplete.....the next set is a COMPLETE Stormtrooper 2-pack with different heights, giving that option to swap out heads if desired to have
both Luke and Han Stormtrooper..

you want a han stormtrooper? buy a Han/chewie set or buy an extra Han

you want a Luke stormtrooper? buy a Luke/Leia set or buy an extra Luke

could care less about stormtrooper disquises and just want a Stormtrooper? then no need to buy a Han or Luke

makes business sense to me....

why sell "another" of the SAME Stormtrooper 2 pack set just to add two headsculpts???? you already have the headsculpts from the EP IV Han release and
Ep IV Luke release

Was any of this mentioned in any of the original three Star Wars movies? That's what people are on about.

"TK-421" uses the same format as the trooper names in The Clone Wars. But that's not proof in itself, could be more revisionism.

Though as previously linked, the official SW poster magazine back in the day said they were clones, and that info was straight from LFL.

Bored so I'm checking this thread out. Not sure where you heard this but from what I know SS is doing just fine. I also have never heard they're getting out of 1:6 nor gonna give SW up. Not sure where these rumors come from. Also, I saw Rory say something about this being a sign HY doesn't care about SS. They're doing items SS has already done. This is exactly what I've been saying for quite some time. Nothing has changed.

Yeah, I think it's a little early to be declaring SSC Star Wars A corpse. HT has just taken over an already existing license, SSC will probably continue pumping out 10 new clones per year and doing whatever. Since Joe products have basically come to a halt or slow trickle universally anyone who takes that line as a sign of SSC's health... well, they are just special people.

Please stop being childish, and if he's wrong. I can say I told you so? I was right? No thats not even it, but we should keep it open before saying anything is anything, based on some graphic on a VIP reveal in HK, they can easily change the picture of items included. Nothing is set in stone till its officially released and up for pre-order, SS's name isn't even on the graphic it just says hot toys and movie masterpieces, who's to say that SS wont have some exclusive items themselves.

If they really wanted to make money they would keep the Han Solo with Chewie the same and include a new more accurate sculpt with the Stormtrooper set

Possibly, but there are so many characters worth doing in SW they might not bother with as many revisions as, say, Iron Man or Bats.

If there is a Sideshow exclusive, it will likely be something very small (say binders for Chewie). I'd be surprised if we got a headsculpt, especially as the set is basically begging to be reissued as a Han/Luke 'ST in disguise' release with a nice mark-up. Plus, last two sets from HT (Han & Chewie and BD Robo w/Alex Murphy) have had no exclusive for SSC, even though both would've been easy releases to add one. Kinda surprised by that, myself. Looking back, it sure illustrates what an incredible value we got out of the Bespin Luke DX07 (2 figures, 2 stands, killer diorama plus SSC exclusive Vader/Luke headsculpt). Think those days are long gone, now.
