When I see SS Stormtroopers all I see is loose armor that rattles like a toy.
The sideshow Stormtroopers were made by hot toys right? Because on my sideshow box there is the Hot Toys logo.
So the future Stormtrooper by hot toys won't be different...

Surely HT can do way better, but I can't be so harsh on the SSC Stormies. With a little care on the armor they are decent figures, IMHO.
I expect HT to have not-so-brittle armor and armor that fits more tightly. At least I hope.
Do you mean "not so rigid?" The stuff on the SSC figures is rigid, but it's not brittle.
And that was 6 years ago. Even if it was HT by itself, I expect vast improvement. They already look tons better.
No, they look great, mostly. If they hold a pose, excellent. But every time you pick it up, the armor scatters, twists, flips around. It takes some resetting every time.

Those SSC Stormtroopers look damn ugly in that pic, they were never cool, but that is failtacular. What happened to their helmets, did they pass through a wormhole? Or it's just the photo and some lens distortion?
The figures aren't that great to begin with and a phone camera doesn't do them any favors either.
Almost every photo posted here has some sort of distortion due to the crappy phones. But I will take bad phone pictures every time if the choice is no pictures at all.
If I understood it correctly, HT helped SSC develop the stormtroopers body; not the armor.
Thats what I recall Hot Toys was body and Olaf had designed the armor.
