And can't wait to see this guy live forever in luminescent blue...

Wait, that's Adam Driver's actual face and not a PS eff-around? Looks like a young Lurch.

Actually I thought the James Earl Jones voice was perfect. It was the mechanical, through-the-mask voice.

As far as Haydenkin ghost, I do understand the logic, or lack thereof, but that fat old man just never did it for me. I remember seeing the movie way back then and thinking "WTF?". This can't be Anakin Skywalker, the powerful apprentice who turned to the dark side and became the most amazing villain ever. It just didn't add up.
At least when you see Hayden you see the failed apprentice and you can make the connection. And he does look somehow contrite and uncomfortable in that scene, which works much better for me than the amused fatherly smile of the old fat guy.

I was fine with JEJ being there, but IMO it should have been a hybrid of Christensen and Jones. Suddenly Mr. Whiny's voice has aged 20 years and is a baritone? I'd be curious to know if they tried other sound tests. It would be interesting to see the scene played out 1) with Hayden's voice modulated and filtered through the breather, 2) Hayden/Jones hybrid, 3) JEJ as presented. Maybe that was the best solution, but it immediately took me out of the scene personally. That's the kind of thing that would be great as a BluRay extra.

Hayden Anakin could have worked if they had used makeup to age him appropriately. Yes you get the connection that this is the Anakin, but WTF about him getting to cruise through eternity as a 20-year-old? His body still aged inside the suit. So again it was just either plain lazy or an insult to the moviegoers intelligence that aging the actor 25-30 years somehow would not have worked--wrinkles, gray hair, sunken eyes -- heck any Faceoff contestant could have pulled it off. Another BluRay extra I'd like to see. But probably was never even tried.

I had no issue with Sebastian Shaw. I feel like he showed how vulnerable and human Vader truly was. Seeing him as a ghost in the end made me know that he became a gentle spirit.

I think theses will realistically go for $350-398for the set. Since there not leading characters.

Paying 400+ for these is like an extra verses the star of a movie. $350 is a realistic figure since this they can sell multiple sets. $300 would be better for set. Since it's easier to sell the sets faster and get them off the shelves.

Just about every one of those "enhancements" was dodgy.

Watching the latest Blu's, it really is surprising so much of it stayed in up to today.

The entry to Mos Eisley and Jabba (I think he's been redone since 1997...) look plain awful. It looks far worse than the so-called "bad FX shots" from 1977.

Docking Bay escape and Sandcrawler look good though.

Putting Hayden Christensen in at end of Jedi has my vote for worst thing Lucas did. I still can not unsee that image. My jaw dropped and said wtf and nooooooooooooooooo! I watched the SE's when they came out on DVD the first time and have not watched SE Jedi or ANH since. Empire was not too bad. I am a kid of the 70's and 80's and saw the OT in theaters when they came out. At least I have the memories.

This is what George would have done next had he not sold to Disney!

^^^ :rotfl

Another weird thing about the prequels was that lightsabers (and saber duels) were so cool and rare in the OT and yet they found a way to make them so commonplace and almost boring. That big fight at the end of ROTS - after two other movies where lightsabers were in nearly every scene and wielded by hundreds of people - was just like "enough already - let's fry him and get the suit on!"

In the OT, even just the igniting of a lightsaber was a "gasp" moment. In the PT, it had to be the most common sound effect used behind lasers.
