spacey was doing hackman and routh reeve. saw singers panel at wondercon before superman returns released. he said intent was to have actors carry on roles from earlier films. superman returns was to follow superman 2, ignoring 3 and 4.

Kamandi, the Superkid business was written poorly, save the dialog lifted from Brando. That was nowhere near enough to save a badly botched plot point. In one fell swoop, he makes Supes a deadbeat dad, dooming Superkid to a lifetime of therapy once he finds out Cyclops isn't his dad. SR had wayyyyyyy too much melodrama and not enough action or clearly defined character motivation. That said, I watch the "airplane rescue" scene on Blu-Ray frequently. Nothing else though.

Yep it seems that this is not the only figure that is taking it's time.
Actually I have a ton of figures on Pre-order, so maybe Batman and Supes taking a little longer is not so bad
Thing is I am glad we don't get to see this until they are 100% happy with the sculpt, I don't want another Indy thread

HT bungled the Avatar, Expendables, Resident Evil, and Sucker Punch licenses. They should have had these ready much closer to release date(s). How many people still get a chubby for Avatar? Is that line going to sell? No, it's a stale license.

There's still a fair amount of Superman HT anger, not only in this thread but the Indy thread too. I've been tempted to suggest merging them but then people would complain about movie discussions.

I found this on The Digital Bits. We ARE getting the Anthology here in the states.

Also, we've heard back from WHV and have learned that the studio IS indeed planning a U.S. Blu-ray release of The Superman Motion Picture Anthology. There's no additional information from them yet, but I think you can safely assume that it will street here around the same time as the U.K. release in June. We'll post official details as we get them. Meanwhile, there are reports circulating (including here at the Spanish site ZonaDVD) that the set will include 8 discs total - 6 for the movies (including films I, III, IV, Superman Returns and BOTH versions of Superman II on individual discs) and 2 discs of bonus content. Keep in mind this isn't official yet. We expect that WHV will make their actual announcement here in the States in the next few weeks. Thanks to Bits reader Santiago R. for the link.

I can see it showing up all the flaws of technology back then from the heavy critics in the present day.

Only just recently watched Superman 2 on TCM. How the cape is almost rigid as he's flying so fast on his journey to France then to the Eiffel Tower. Not only that how Blu-ray will show up how cheesy the Paris background will be. It was very grainy/blurry.

Still great films though.

so Jack Sparrow is for chick collectors? What if they make John Dillinger? Sweeney Todd? Blow definitely wasn't a chick movie, nor Sleepy Hollow, From Hell, Secret Window, The Ninth Gate...I mean the list goes on. Sure many females like him but you can say that about many actors soooo how does it make it a line for chicks? B/c he's not dressed with a red cape with an "S" on his chest? The man's a great actor.

I'm waiting on the HT CR Superman like many, but I see no problem with them saying that they're going to be doing more figures based on the characters he's portrayed.

I wasnt that guy. I am not even registered on facebook.
He is a great actor and I like him a lot, and no problems there.

But doing so manny Johny Depp characters seems just a waste of efforts/time to me. Sparrow is enough.
There are hundreds more memorable characters that they can make now.

As for this line being fo chicks, thats just my subjective opinion.
