Re: Hot Toys Superman

Please no light up eyes. Nothing more guaranteed to make it look like a toy except perhaps spring loaded flying action arms.
I have to agree with you. Light up eyes makes me think of a Mattel "Heat Vision" action figure version.

And I think there's a bit difference between the Iron Man figs having the light up function and Superman having a light up function. With Iron man, It doesn't make the figure look more like a toy, but more Screen Accurate. Where as like I stated above, Superman with light up eyes just seems like a constant gimmick that has been on so many superman figs in the past that it would just make this feel like more of a toy rather than a collectible figure if that makes any sense.

I feel it would be a waste of a HS. if there had to only be 2, I'd go for the extra to be a CK one over a "Heat Vision" one any day.

Very good point...and well written.

Re: Hot Toys Superman

Only want light up eyes if lights comes out like a laser pointer.

MAKE IT HAPPEN HT!:wink1:

Re: Hot Toys Superman

different head, Red Eyes, white LED.

Just a guess.

Considering they've done it with NON DX's, i'd not be surprised to see it on this one.

So you're expecting three heads sculpts inclusive of this set? The PERS head, the obligatory Clark head, and a third one for led eyes? Ambitious, but that's a bit much, even for a DX. I think the Clark head is practically a given.

I feel the inclusion of a sculpt with led eyes would be cool and generally don't agree with the opinion that led eyes = gimmick (Hot Toys. Emphasis), but I'd choose against it in lieu of a Clark sculpt.

Re: Hot Toys Superman

I'm not fussed about it appearing gimmicky. It's a pretty safe bet that if HT do bring out an LED HS it'll be awesome. But yeah, given a choice I'd go with CK.

Re: Hot Toys Superman

so you're saying they did a bad job on Wesker, and all the Iron man figures BECAUSE of the light up eyes then?

Yes, this was intended to look Evil, but it fives you an idea

Looks no less toy-like than any other Hot toys figure.

A. It's not Superman, and
B. It still looks like a toy to me.

But it's a personal thing. For me this would mean either unnecessary expense for something I'll never use, or the exclusion of something I'd be more interested in.

Each to his own.

Re: Hot Toys Superman

Then maybe you should skip this figure, cause it is a toy.

I was going to make a witty post, but then EF said the following.

so i don't need to :)

Granted, If it's one or the other, I'd rather have a CK as well.
provided we're getting a CK costume. My main point was that it looks no more "toy-like" than it already does, as, you know, he IS a Doll, and Dolls are toys.

if you don't collect toys, might i suggest buying statues instead?

Re: Hot Toys Superman

As long as the iconic look of Superman isn't compromised, I'm game for any extras... light up eyes, PERS...

Would love a Clark Kent figure as well, but it's not necessary.

Fortress of Solitude base would be outstanding.

Sorry I was assuming an average reading age and level of maturity just a wee bit above 12. I didn't realise I had to explicitly mention Hasbro or Mattel to get the message over. Next time I'll choose my words more carefully and make sure I consult my "English for Immature Pedants" reference.

wow guy, butthurt much? no need to make it personal.

My point is,

a) it's a toy, regardless. If you feel it makes it look cheap, that's fine, then say that. Stating you think it makes a toy look like a toy is not very dissimilar from saying that by being blue, the sky looks like the sky.

2) Throwing maturity into ANY Discussion, or argument is essentially the same as Godwins law, Meaning, it usually makes you look silly.

III) Dragging Maturity into a discussion about a toy on a board for High-priced toys is just silly too.

and

Q) if you takes this SOO seriously that you feel the need to start insulting people over it, perhaps you should re-evaluate your life's priorities.
