Re: Hot Toys Superman

Certain collectibles come around from time to time where I have no issue paying higher than normal for. I have to have it no matter what. This is one of those collectibles...

Re: Hot Toys Superman

A DX fetches shy of a couple hundred bucks, so unless they throw in baby superman and the meteor he came to earth in as an exclusive, this one'll be no exception.

Re: Hot Toys Superman

Hey hot toys dont forget to put some red LEDS for the eyes , do it just like weskers eyes...

Re: Hot Toys Superman

Being the HUGE Christopher Reeve Superman fan that I am here is what I am hoping for:

1.) Superman PERS head sculpt Thats for sure!
2.) Clark Kent PERS head sculpt with removable glasses and removable fedora hat. Yeah, he wore a fedora like Indy, just a darker color.Dont know about the removable hat i would probably look weird at that scale or maybe they can sculpt the the hat with the hair with an alternate hair but that would to much let wait and see!
3.) Clark Kent outfit that fits over the Superman outfit. Just so you can pose him in the classic "open shirt" revealing the Superman "S" shield! That would be iconic but at the scale probably they do the same as the second SR figure were it only had the shirt
4.) Fortress Of Solitude base/figure stand with the crystal "control panel". Also this stand must be able to pose him in flying poses. Not just standing poses. Great idea but the control panels would be to much if they want to maintain prices low but i will buy that a whatever cost is a DX so the snow and crystal would be there for sure!
5.) Green crystal Clark threw in the snow that created the Fortress.it has to be there!
6.) Kryptonite on the chain to put around his neck. I would probably have that accesory for a potential Luthor, remember if this figure sales great expect more character of this movie, i bet DC DIRECT will order another batch of this guy it happened to Jor-El so why not Supes?
7.) Two sets/pairs of hands for Superman (gripping pair, flat handed "flying" hands). Two pairs of hands for Clark (gripping pair, and one pair with his right hand holding a pencil, and the other hand open to hold a note pad.) Second normal pair of open hands. I agree, that the more pairs of hands in different poses...the better! :wave Those will be there for sure but i dont think i will posse this figure too much

I assume this should cost around the $180.00 price just like other HT DX figures have been so far. I'd gladly pay that much for it if this one hits the mark and comes with many accessories, and does look like Christopher Reeve! I have a feeling that this figure will. :)
its a DC Direct property so will have to wait and see the price tag for this one but it will have to be less than others because a DX bats is more elaborated than a Superman in spandex but if a CK is in the mix expect 200.00

Those are great ideas!
But there are some points to consider see above:lecture

Re: Hot Toys Superman

Kryptonite on a chain would be the Sideshow Exclusive that comes with Mrs. Teschmaker. :lol

too bad there won't be a sideshow exclusive as I'm sure DCD will be the ones distributing this grail and not Sideshow

Re: Hot Toys Superman

This is one figure where price is not much of an issue for me (i want it to be as cheap as possible cause i'm poor ATM) But it's a grail figure for me, and i will obtain it no matter the cost.

Couldn't agree more.

Would happily sacrifice 99% of my collection for this one, if it is done right. Which, lets face it, it will be. :rock

Not familiar with the figure. Are the eyes normal looking when the lights are off? It would certainly be a cool feature but I wouldn't want it to interfere with the aesthetic of the piece, meaning, I don't want to see a switch behind superman's neck.

Re: Hot Toys Superman

Thanks for your feedback comments on my post JRL. I agree with what you said in them. I could do without the "crystal control panel" on the base stand. But it MUST be a stand that is a piece of the Fortress Of Solitude. No question there. I really couldn't see Hot Toys doing any other familiar piece as the base/stand for this figure! Yeah, a rooftop ledge would be...okay. But it's no snowy white Fortress base we all want!

I'll be buying this for sure! Considering all of the great talented people working on it...it will be worth the money. :wave

Weskers eyes are not normal to begin with, but yes, they look fine with the light off. as for the power switch, just make sure his hair covers it, much like wesker.

Re: Hot Toys Superman

Clark's eyes are blue though. The color of the irises would really affect the light emitted by the leds.

Re: Hot Toys Superman

LED lights are kind of overkill. Won't be needed with an awesome sculpt.

different head, Red Eyes, white LED.

Just a guess.

Considering they've done it with NON DX's, i'd not be surprised to see it on this one.

Re: Hot Toys Superman

Please no light up eyes. Nothing more guaranteed to make it look like a toy except perhaps spring loaded flying action arms.
so you're saying they did a bad job on Wesker, and all the Iron man figures BECAUSE of the light up eyes then?

Yes, this was intended to look Evil, but it fives you an idea

Looks no less toy-like than any other Hot toys figure.
