Re: Hot Toys Superman

What is so terrible about the Indy sculpt?Because honestly,I see Ford right away? Can someone point out, specifically, what about the sculpt looks terrible?

everyone is entitled to they're opinion here if you see Mr. Ford in this sculpt then it is, but been a fan of the character and seeing Mr. Ford face in so many movies in the past i thinks is totally off here, the expectation are so high because HT made it that way and you can compare it with the Sideshows versions..........

I know this is a PM statue and the scale is bigger and so you have more possibilities, but Hot Toy has given us 1/6th PM for the last 3 years so i expect the same level of quality....

Re: Hot Toys Superman

And with indy's price being $250, you also need another body to display the other costume if you like.

Re: Hot Toys Superman

So why is everyone talking about Indiana Jones in a Hot Toys Superman thread? Let get back on topic. Allow me to start...

Awesome!! Love the base. And as usual head sculpt could use some tweaking but it's still a work in progress. Got this from their facebook page. But too bad it's a custom. Lol

Re: Hot Toys Superman

^^^ Wow that is a great custom. The base is a cool idea. I am not certain I like red light (takes away his powers) otherwise great work.

Have a look at the rest of the pics, that is the very best of them and slightly resembles Ford. The rest look like someone else dressed as Indy.
Poor sculpt, bad body choice, some bad clothing.

Yeah, it's better than a lot of 1/6th stuff out there, but it is not really of a standard we expect from HT. I mean look at their Platoon stuff? It's fantastic, even though I have no interest in it personally. I would love a mini Ford/Indy. But this is just mediocre at best.

Please improve HT before the final release.

The first pic is great, as for the base, see my sig!

Re: Hot Toys Superman

Yeah. I would like to see a base like this with two switches for green and white. I think it would be cool to have a green light even though it'd kill him.

Hot Toys is really taking their sweet time releasing this figure.

Re: Hot Toys Superman

Not to derail the thread but after Kim's take on IJ, I wonder if the delay is his inability to get the sculpt right.

Thats the situation i think,............:slap

Do you guys really see Harrison Ford here??:( more of a stunt double, and i don't mean disrespect here

Re: Hot Toys Superman

I think Dinolast has likeness rights.

Re: Hot Toys Superman

He's a member of this board. The figure nearly looks like him. Put on a hat and jacket and there he is, a 1/6 Dinolast Indiana.

Re: Hot Toys Superman

I see Ford, but as JRL said, everyone's entitled to their own opinions.I'm in the minority with mine, however. But honestly,if 80% of HT's customer base doesn't like it,especially on a release this big,I think they are going to work their asses off to get the best possible results by release day.Not to mention, they're going to want to turn a profit, considering the license probably cost a small fortune to secure.Overall,I like the sculpt and HT always has quality clothing.I can understand other complaints, though. His jacket should look like it belongs to an adventurer, not a leather shop(I.e. weathering,HT!),same deal with his shoes.I also think they need to fic the hat issue. It looks as though it's resting on top of his head, rather than the hat actually being worn by him.Overall, though,it's a definite buy for me.Frankly,IMO I don't think they were ready to unveil this guy quite yet,but they needed something to satisfy (or at least occupy) fans until Reeve is ready.

Re: Hot Toys Superman

"Damn right." The poor baby. It seems international terrorism is not for the faint-hearted. Who knew?

Indy is $250? Holy moly.

SnakeDoc

I'll refrain on commenting on how retarded that just made you sound.
But this isn't a forum for politics, so I'll just quietly get back on topic and leave you to your wonderfully simple worldview.

So, when is "winter" officially over?
I thought Superman was supposed to be unveiled in winter?

Re: Hot Toys Superman

The great thing about that custom is that it can easily be replicated if you buy the right parts. Except for the base and the boots.
Erick Sosa's sculpt from Fenix
Superman suit from Mattel
HT Comedian body.
