Re: Hot Toys Superman

I'll refrain on commenting on how retarded that just made you sound.
But this isn't a forum for politics, so I'll just quietly get back on topic and leave you to your wonderfully simple worldview.

So, when is "winter" officially over?
I thought Superman was supposed to be unveiled in winter?

But not before you hurl an insult or two, I see. You have the luxury of seeing waterboarding as an inherent evil without regard to the innocent lives at stake ... a "simple worldview" indeed. Those responsible for protecting those lives have no such luxury.

Winter is over toward the end of March. I'd rather they take their time and get a good sculpt done.

Wowwo,HT needs to burn some rubber, and unveil this guy. From Supes to torture to Indy,Oh my!

Re: Hot Toys Superman

This is the only thing in the 1:6 world I am even looking forward to at the moment.

Re: Hot Toys Superman

I'm betting that the body, suit and accessories are already done, and they're just waiting on the paint apps on the sculpt. It'd be so awesome if they unveiled 2 DX's in one month.

Re: Hot Toys Superman

This the most wanted 1/6 figure ever. No doubt. Everybody loves the original film from Richard Donner, and the amazing perfomance of the great Reeve. This figure has to be the ultimate tribute.

I apologize for that, it was uncalled for.
You've stated your views, I've stated mine, and we can move on.

Three cheers for Superman! :hi5:

Re: Hot Toys Superman

I have to say I've gone from anticipation to dread with this reveal now. Based on the obviously rushed Indy with his generic headsculpt I fear Arnie Kim is overrated and specializes in only one subject. Nobody will be more happy than me if I were proved wrong in spectacular style but the Raiders Indy smacks of such laziness and failure to capture even the most basic details that this may end up as useful parts rather than the definitive representation we all want...

He has made a great Mr Bean, and Jet Li. The Indy will look better as it's not the fail sculpt other people say it is IMO

Re: Hot Toys Superman

The Indy sculpt is salvagable IMO.He got Ford's basic features down (i.e. nose, mouth eyes-partially)really I think it's just the shape of the face,eyes-partially,and the hat bringing it down.No one can say that the hat does not make a huge difference,I saw a Photoshop where all they did was correct the color and position of the hat and it improved the sculpt a helluva lot,HT also needs to add some weathering to his coat and shoes, and that would make it perfect.(or close)

Re: Hot Toys Superman

The great thing about that custom is that it can easily be replicated if you buy the right parts. Except for the base and the boots.
Erick Sosa's sculpt from Fenix
Superman suit from Mattel
HT Comedian body.

The body is the Royce body. The Stand is a lot of modelling board, tape, glue, epoxy clay, tinfoil, sand, lots of white paint and a set of 10 ultrabright battery LED lights. It took about a week of evenings to make. The clever bit on it really is the interchangeable Clear perspex rod figure stand. I have one set up for standing poses and one longer rod for flying & lift-off.
I may make side extensioms soon for My Lex & Zod, one will have the Crystal control panel, lit again by LED, the other just led. Although my madness is running into the idea of having a 'Molecule chamber' lit with red led lights, but thiat'll take a lot of perspex .....It would be cool though.

:lecture:exactly:

the bean and indy he made is subpar.

hes only good in making bruce lee sculpts, and thats the main reason that HT snatched him from EB.
