Yeah but even if he did smile he would not like a girl like he does in these promo pics of the figure. :lol

:exactly:

Yeah I was going to say those two artist to, but I agree a $500 figure should not have to be modded when they could at least do a better face plate because they proved they can sculpt Bale's lower face at least with that DX12 Bale sculpt. There is just no reason they can't do what Robbie did and give us that face plate. :gah:

They can't fix the PERS but at least they can make Batman not look like a girl and give him a faceplate that is more accurate to Bale. :thud:

I didn't bother unwrapping mine either, who did you buy yours from? I bought mine from lforigno. It was cheaper than Tony's but I will admit no where near as good but good enough for me for the price. :wink1:

I cant remember. I know it was from america though, it had an amazing sort of velvet quality feel to it. I thought it was amazing.

Well fine Frank, I am not going to post much in this thread anymore, unless I am not complaining and saying how much I like this figure, because that is what you want to hear. I hope you are happy now.

no, actually, HE DOES. And when he does smile, Batman is more frightening. His smile is menacing. Like you don't know what he's thinking to cause you pain. Remember how he smiled at the circus guy in Batman Returns? That smile, and Keaton pulled it off. It's the smile that says "are you sure you can take me, punk?". In comics, everyone -- from Justice League to Arkham doctors to his foes -- get scared when he smiles. I can't forget how an Arkham psychologist stuttered while saying "a-a-are you s-smiling?" And shameless plugging aside, I also love drawing Batman smiling, case in point my signature.

He smiles, just not like how the face plate proto and DX12 was sculpted, or how Clooney smiled under his cowl as if he's happy he thinks his nippled suit was sexy.

I see what you are saying dude, like a guy who has suffered so much could only smile if he has something sadistic in mind. But if you take Batman Confidential into consideration, Batman says to Alfred his cowl feels strange and "unfitting" Alfred then states its because he has never smiled in his cowl before (Batman was on a buzz coz he finds a new girlfriend, Lorna)

But in my opinion Batman is too serious a character to be smiling, especially in front of enemies. If he smiled in front of the Joker in TDK how do you think Joker would react? Lol Bruce Wayne can pull it off but Batman? No way. But thats my opinion, maybe ur right :)

They are all just poor efforts at the faceplates. He's not supposed to be smiling it's supposed to be that upturned closed mouth that he has on the DX12 Bruce wayne head too, just fro some reason they made it too upturned so it looks like hes pushing his chin into his neck while smiling.

The faceplates are the worst thing. If they were fine it'd make the whole cowl appear better but i actually think the cowl looks a lot better than the DX12, at least from those photos from ages ago

OMG you are complaining? After telling me off? You hypocrite!

It was more of an interest thing for me. I pop in this thread every so often to see whats happening and it's the same old. It just intrigues me why some people do the things they do and repeat themselves

If you wan't to carry on posting in here please do so don't let my interest in human behaviour be a reason for you not to carry on talking about how the arms, cowl, faceplates and pers are terrible and these things should be correct on a $500 figure because i don't think everyone knows it yet

I haven't posted for a while now, and I just said that the face plate kinda sucked as it looked girly looking and was wondering if any one else has seen any pics with the frowning face plate. Then everyone else said all these other flaws and agreed with them.

That's not a hypocrite, if i had been in here saying nothing was wrong with this figure only to then go back on my word would make me a hypocrite. I was just stating my thoughts on the subject you were talking about, plus it wasn't really aimed at you

Also i wasn't 'telling you off' all i was saying is you can come into this thread at periods and the same things are being said by the same people

Ok my mistake, I thought you were a Hot Toys fan boy defending your figure and U were singling out me as a person that kept putting your favorite figure down. :slap

Ok I thought you were, and I guess I agree it is a bit strange me being such a high poster for someone that doesn't like the look of this figure, well sculpt not figure. :peace

Guys lets just agree... The body/armour and accessories and even the cowl looks like an amazing job. The face plates are a problem, im sure everyone can see that. The Bruce Wayne sculpt i personally think captures Christian Bales likeness but his jaw could use a looking at (looks a bit Arnold Schwarznegger) but hands down i prefer this sculpt rather than Enterbays HD Begins suit. If someone can sort out some custom face plates for this cowl it will be an EPIC figure.

I don't think its strange at all. If action figures interest you and the subject matter in particular interests you (Batman in this case) you're going to post about it a lot. I'd argue especially if you have criticisms, things you'd like to see improved because you very much want to buy the figure. I don't know why this surprises people. :dunno

Same goes for movies. I keep seeing people rhetorically ask 'why keep coming back to a thread about a movie you hate?' Well I expect its because, even in dislike of something, it can still be very very interesting to talk about.

Im probably asking the question in the wrong place but does anyone have a Hot Toys Joker 2.0 they wanna sell? im getting rid of my DX12 Batman and want a Joker 2.0!!!

I agree with everything you said, except the cowl and although I don't hate the Bruce Wayne sculpt I can admit that it is not the best. :lol

Yeah I don't know, I don't like conflict so I caved into what Frank said because he always seems to want to reply to my post after people start agreeing with me and making fun of this figure, more than me.

Thanks for making me think what I wasn't doing was nuts because guys like Frank make me feel like I am an idiot or should apologize, even if those weren't their intentions.

I'm with you on this. Truth be told however, I am now more of a lurker than an active poster. I don't know how being an actual troll is defined here on the freaksboard, that I sometimes hold myself back when I'm about to post something, seeing that some with valid points even are considered trolls usually just because they are "newbs", just because they had less than a thousand posts though they have been here longer than those who call them newbs. Some would ignore you for complaining "too much" on figures based on franchises they love, but it's okay for them to complain about figures based on franchises they don't care about, to the point of even laughing and calling names to those who buy figures that they don't.

It's just too full of hypocrisy and self-righteousness sometimes, that's very tiring.

wahhh everyone's a hero on here

I can't understand it no and and whining between yourselves for long extended periods of time serves no purpose whatsoever except to most probably turn folk away from the thread or to annoy some because it's just become a bore. Which is what it did to me

By all means let your feelings be known on a figure but is it really necessary to carry on for so long about the same things? And yes it is strange that somebody who has taken a dislike to the figure due to the inaccuracies to be frequenting a thread and posting so much even if it's a license you like, it's like a double negative. Nobody want's to only read negative comments about a figure and the same people are frequently putting the same points across when there is no need. We know what's wrong and what you think about the inaccuracies, can we please talk about something else now? or at least see a decent conversation about the inaccuracies. Not just people constantly validating their opinion

People complain about new collectors but it's more so every other collector that always wan't more than is given to them and subsequently influence the new collectors who join the forums into the whining ways

They have some mistaken authority in the figure internet realm when really there just another consumer that will never get recognition or be listened to by the companies they spend so much of there money on, there's no hierarchy only that what people imply on the internet and nobodies opinion is more right than anyone elses

It blows my mind that people still say well they have had 3 tries and it isn't a 100% accurate shrunken batman so therefore it's a fail or it isn't worth what it costs. Each one has gotten better and better as they make more and more but it isn't good enough for some if it's too expensive don't buy it but don't hate. I don't know why they collect if nothing ever lives up to there expectations, i couldn't be into something that constant let me down

Dude...are u really psycho mantis?? Get out of my head!!!

I agree with every word in your post. Unfortunately, this stance on the subject matter will continue rotating itself until it becomes either a circle jerk or vicious cycle, depending on how u look at it.

Lurking on these boards lately has become the preferred choice. There's almost no reason to contribute since every two posts are from the same members complaining about the same things over and over again.

I have taken my own advice, and that is, if there is something that upsets you so much, just avoid it. Like when a certain member kept flooding the dx12 thread with his humorous hatred for the dx12, it just wasn't fun anymore. So, I stayed away from that thread until said member eventually got tired from his temper tantrums and took a nap, only for his resurgence some time later.

I have huge issues with the way HT is handling the iron man hall of armor. I said my piece, then moved on, oblivious to whether my complaints, along with others, had any effect. Why? Because I know when to stop. There's NO reason whatsoever to reiterate the same point page after page. Not only does it get boring for others to read, but it got boring for me typing.

Not taking a cheap shot at you darkavatar...but YOU ARE BORDERLINE becoming the member I alluded to earlier.

Dude, seriously, quit while you're ahead. WE HEAR YOU. Now, take the chance and spam mail HT to make a difference. The sad truth here is this:YOUR COMPLAINTS HERE WILL GO UNHEARD.

You want change? Speak with your wallet. You want change? Complain to HT. write them a properly worded, devoid of fanboyism letter, then let us know the aftermath. In fact, start a petition. I personally like this figure. However I am not opposed to changes that can make it shine even further. You start a petition, and I will happily throw my signature on the line.

I'm not bashing you man. But what made me stop frequenting the dx12 thread is because of that member. I.AM.NOT.JOKING.

We get it bro, you want them to fix things. Telling us isn't gonna do s#!t.

Perhaps fair enough about repetition. At least mix it up a bit with some posts that aren't complaining. I haven't always looked at this thread though so maybe Darkavatar has been doing that and you guys are selectively remembering his posts. I've had people do that with my own posts in the past - choosing only to remember the posts where I said something negative to back up their attack, ignoring the fact that so many other posts were positive, neutral, in good fun etc.

But no I maintain that it is no surprise to see him coming back to this thread again and again even with the criticisms he has. If it were a statue and he has never and never intends to buy a statue I would wonder why hes bothering but if Batman and action figures are his thing of course hes going to be here.
