their 1/4 endo came out sweet. maybe this will as well? i can't get it because i got spidey and the 89 supposedly coming. i have no money for this

I will believe it when I see it. As for now, with what the preliminary photos of this figure when it was announced a year ago on July 26th is not very good. This figure does look anything close to Bale with the cowl on. Unless Hot Toys really revamps this figure, I am not to excited about this. I have the Enterbay Batman 1/4 and The TDKR DX 12 and both to me are the best Batman figures to date.:impatient:

I own the EB Bats too.. My ability to be impressed by any other Batman figure is very difficult. And in all fairness, I only felt that way after the mods. Not before them. Hopefully they listened to peoples complaints about the DX12 and carried them over to QS001. I might be the only one okay with it if they don't.

I've got a Hong Kong seller telling me July 31st is the release date. August seems viable at this point. Though, seeing is believing. Until then, its anybodies guess.

I have a good feeling we will get this in August...:impatient:

It is pretty rediculous how many times this figure has been pushed forward on release. The original date was May, which im not even sure still counts as Q1 2013. Now we pretty much in July and still no definite date that holds solid and true. I just hope the final product meets my expectations, i guess a good way to look at it is to see this figure as a 1st Anniversary Dark Knight Rises figure lol because its basically being released exactly a year after the movie release...

Well, it was announced basically the same time the endoskeleton was... That's what really upsets me. But i'm also optimistic. The endo seemed to have a relatively positive reaction across the board. I can only hope they did enough that Bats gets the same treatment. But not having a solid release date or being able to trust in the one(s) we're given is very frustrating.

Don't base your expectations on the endo. That one is pretty much unchanged from the prototype and the headsculpt is less than accurate. Chances are what you see on page one is what you're gonna get.

Fair enough. In all honesty, i'm okay with whats on page 1. I think it needs improvement but i'm not going all in on this figure. It's merely to complement my EB Joker. EB Bats is my ode to Nolan Batman. This one is just the 2nd suit to complete the look of the trilogy. I hear you though man.

Yes, indeed! I can't wait to see that myself. The only thing is my fanboy OCD will kick in. I'll love what I see but ultimately be unhappy because of no Bane/Selina Kyle/Two Face/Ra's Al Ghul. Lack of character depth is the worst thing about 1/4. Guys talk about space being an issue. There is always a way to make space. It's merely an issue of if you're willing to do it. In the words of Liam Neeson as Ra's Al Ghul "You lack the courage to do all that is necessary".

The same conversation again and again...we'll see...time is up! Hottoys will make a serious fault if the final product is same to the proto! And this because is not a big matter for them to change cowl, faceplates and at least the Wayne headsculpt in a year period...

1/4 scale bat has about 600USD cost at this moment, so the figure must be perfect!

We've also talked about how Hot Toys doesn't believe that the things their consumers complain about are actual problems. I've seen no indication from them that they believe the cowl and faceplates need fixing. Likely, as a-dev said, what we see on page 1 is what we'll get. I have to agree with him.

The figure should be perfect. Agreed. Tell me one Batman figure that is and i'll get on board with your statement too.

Ok! There is nothing perfect...but the problems of Dx12 after one year should have been corrected at scale up!If hottoys can't see and understand the inaccuracies after a year of constant complaining about DX12 and 1/4 proto, just ignore us and this is even worse in my opinion. What"s the reason of release delay if nothing is going to be changed? In case of Wayne head it is not accepted by me the Dx12 head to be far better than the respective at 1/4 scale...

I'm in total agreement with you. 100%. Lets just be honest, they really don't have to listen an awful lot to their consumers in order to make a profit. Their products are so popular that it's almost to the point that they'll sell by default. Regardless of how great the final product is or not.

I take myself as an example. I want a figure as great as my EnterBay Batman. Probably not gonna happen. But i'm still shelling out the $500+ for him for two reasons. He's 1/4 scale and he's the Nolan Dark Knight Batman. I want a great product but they've got my money no matter what.

Call me crazy but i'm willing to bet the reason for all the delay is because they're playing catch up. March-May my Facebook newsfeed from Hot Toys was Iron Man 3 every single day. Then they had the 1/4 Endo about to be released. On top of every other project they were working on. They were expected to have him ready for June? No way. TDKR Batman was on the back burner. Not because they were trying to make him all he could be. Not because they wanted the cowl to be perfect and the faceplates to be Christian Bale, but because they didn't have enough figures from page 1 to ship him out.

I am also in totally agreement with you! :1-1:

The problem is I believe the same about the reasons of release delay...i also have preordered from Timcent and I will be happy for the shipping notice eventhough OMG photos are the of the same figure as the proto! But it is sad that Hottoys can make a perfect figure and doesn't care about customers...Fortunately there will be custom capes, cowls, faceplates to fix the major problems...

Exactly, my friend. If you want something done right you gotta do it yourself. Or in this case, hire somebody else to. Either way, I wasn't trying to jump your case. I'm just as frustrated as you are. Trust me, we see eye to eye on this.

Hahaha i hear you buddy.

You guys should wait for the unavoidable TDK Enterbay Batman. That figure will be the definitive Batman.

And if you look at the DX12 thread you'll not see any complains at all. That's a place where guys takes a bunch of crappy pictures over and over of the same inaccurate figure, with several modifications. They talk about rainbows and butterflys.. sure just:

- change the head
- change the cape
- change the face plates

Expend 200+ extra in modifications And the DX12 still looks awful.

And yet the DX12 was named figure of the year in the 2012.

PS: The Enterbay OC Batman don't collect dust at all!! I don't know what some guy was talking about...

I think DX12 was named in good sense, i mean iron man is well hot but in the end its all sculpted plastic. The DX12 was a mix of fabrics and well sculpted plastics, put with that the well attached accessories and quite decent stand. I would call it figure of the year. If the DX11 Joker 2.0 was out in 2012 i think it would have easily topped Batman.

Don't get me wrong -- I'm a big Batman fan -- I got into Hot Toys collecting because of Batman figures, and I PO'd DX12 from day 1 as it would be my first TDK suit Hot Toy, but I won't call it or would ever have voted for it as figure of the year.

I don't hate it as much as Tyrannus7 seems, but I don't love it as much as my other HTs, and in my opinion it's an overrated figure, even more so when it won FOTY in various 1/6 and action figures groups and award-giving bodies. I think one of its edges over its competitions for the award is that people where already having fangasms over anything Nolan Batman then, and the fact that the polls were done and the awards were given just in time when almost everyone were going giddy over DX12 as they just got theirs in-hand -- and we know how it is whenever most people get a new toy in their hands-- "FOTY for me!", "Best HT ever!", "Best Nolan Batman --no -- Batman figure to date!" etc -- and so it's what they voted for under that category.

it was just a few months earlier and people must have already forgotten the more brilliant 1989 Batman and Joker figures, while I'm sure that when people first got them in hand they also screamed "FOTY!". Unlike DX12, though, I find either of them more deserving.

What makes a FOTY? Is it just flashy mixed-media costume? Is it a diorama base? Accessories? For me it should go beyond those. Because if those are the only things we'd consider for FOTY, then 2 of 3 of those things are what you could regularly get from Sideshow's GI Joe line and Soldier Story figures. Of course who'd vote for them, right? To me, The real FOTY should be any figure that requires NO MODIFICATIONS at all, especially pricey ones on top of the already hefty pricetag. Sure, modfications are optional, but if the optional mod involves THE LIKENESS of the figure when HT takes pride on details and likeness from the source material, then it's not FOTY worthy IMO.

I may be the minority, but the bacon should have been brought home by another Batman. The Batman whose cape is the only thing that was an OPTIONAL, not a MUST modification. It was a shrunken Keaton in a stunning replication of his bat-suit. Just my 2 cents.

I po'd this way back August. If this turns out just a blown up version of DX12, then I already have someone waiting for me to sell it to him at retail.

Wow, agreed with entire post, especially stuff I've put in bold. Based on the prototype pics I'd say the new Robocop has to be a good contender for FOTY 2014 though. The likeness on that is very good and the proportions are far better than the old figure. No one has complained.
