Re: 1/6 Hot Toys: The Avengers: Mark VI Limited Edition Collectible Figurine

Avengers really started pushing up the price on this one. I couldn't even sell a new one for $260 a few months ago.

Shift in demand curve :lol Econ 101
HT seems to know a lot about it

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys: The Avengers: Mark VI Limited Edition Collectible Figurine

I've got two Mark VI figures already so one of them can be my Avengers Mark VI and I'll wait until we get the Mark VII from The Avengers.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys: The Avengers: Mark VI Limited Edition Collectible Figurine

HT doesn't have the best track record for keeping to their 'limited editions' so just because they claim its only going to be 3,000 doesn't mean it will. HT loves money too much and will easily loop hole the 3,000 to just 3,000 in ASIA and not worldwide, thus letting Sideshow carry this like the previous Toy Fairs exclusives you mentioned. That took a long time, but it did eventually happen.

They were pretty sneaky regarding the limited no of the MJ Beat it or Bat demon/ Scarecrow, stating that it's limited edition of 5000 for the Japanese ones with signed and numbered certificate, yet issued another batch for the HK residents unnumbered. But never did they mention how many was produced worldwide.

While in the case of this one, (and also the fear of not selling out with so many complains regarding them milking the iron man line) they mentioned and printed on the pics stating that this figure is limited to 3000pcs worldwide.

If HK gets 500pcs at their opening promo, Singapore get another 500pcs and Taiwan another 500. Maybe another 500 for Japan, there's still 1000pcs for US/EU:lol

But to answer your question, yes they love $ (which business, doesnt:lol), and it won't surprise me if they make another variant and make it a sideshow exclusive for the western market.

Everyone will lose interest in this one as soon as mark vii is revealed.. Is is just a rerelease with a couple extra scratches and different base >.<

I collect iron man suits, and have bought silly thing mark 3 and secret project, but never have I considered them to be grails. As they never even show up in the movie:lol

Not necessarily. Most collectors love the term "limited edition", if secret project or silly thing is anything to go by. Would they be much in demand and coveted if they were a normal production figure? My guess is, no.

The regular mark vi is probably an edition of 7-8k (probably even more), while this one is stated to be 3k. Hence the appeal from collector to want this version more than the other one, despite it being the lesser product (by lesser I mean, 1 base instead of 2, no switch out battle damage parts etc).

This is one that most completist would want in their collection, just for the bragging rights:lol

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys: The Avengers: Mark VI Limited Edition Collectible Figurine

I have a Regular Mark VI, and 2 Mark IV's, but I just got one off ebay for $75 more for what someone wanted to charge me for a EX Mark VI.

I'm not a completist anymore, but but love "The Avengers" movie quite a bit.

If Sideshow ends up getting this, the price for the event I think was $280, so it won't be cheap anyway.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys: The Avengers: Mark VI Limited Edition Collectible Figurine

The PO price for this in Singapore was $250, which is around 200$us. If sideshow get a shot at these, I guess it will be $220.

I agree. I don't have a MK VI but really want one. I don't care what version it is. I just don't want to pay $3-400 for it so bring it on SS!

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys: The Avengers: Mark VI Limited Edition Collectible Figurine

Finally gave in and PO'd for $187 :yess:

I dont wanna risk not having an iron man for a year :gah:

At that price, you can PO more than 1 and help a few freaks out here who could use 1 in their collection, or maybe make a few bucks if you flip them on eBay.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys: The Avengers: Mark VI Limited Edition Collectible Figurine

I really hope this is not the way the other Avengers figures will be boxed. The box art for this Mark VI is weak.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys: The Avengers: Mark VI Limited Edition Collectible Figurine

Does anyone else feel that the way Tony Stark goes through one suit per fight makes the Iron Man armour seem kinda... lame? I don't know how else you'd represent it in a movie, but at the moment it just seems that anything that touches the armour rips chunks off it or destroys it.

Even if he'd use an older variant once in a while, like going back to the mkV for a bit, or whatever. Just stop getting it trashed every time he puts it on!
