The Mark VI has the shoulder missiles and hip flares, the Mark IV only has the hip flares. This Mark VI looks like it has different scratch marks throughout the armor and the silver parts look a bit shiner, but I think the mold is the same as the original Mark VI release.

Where did you get yours, ebay?
Got my Avengers Iron man Mark6 last week.
This was my third IM figure after ver1. Mark2 & 3.I stopped when I found the pink issue on the figure, & believe rest of them had the same problem.
But fortunately, through some guidance on the thread, I managed to solve/repaint my MK3 pinky pant. Was then, I would decide to have this MK6, and to form the Avengers.
Where did you get yours, ebay?

Yes, but the missiles are that of IM2 version, while for the Avengers version, Tony upgraded the mark VI's shoulder missiles, making this one inaccurate if you are a movie accuracy type of collector.

I think this is for the completist. That is me. That is why I bought this. The only Iron Man figure I don't have is Gunmetal (and I cry about it, although I much rather have the $600+ in my pocket, than pay what it goes for).
I bought this for $350. It is a steal. It puts my soul at ease. If they do rerelease this the box will have a MMS number on it. This one doesn't. At $350, I should have bought 2. Maybe I can trade it for Mr. Gunmetal one day But that will be the grail for me. The piece I get "One Day (but I don't know when)".

I'm very tempted to buy this, but I feel that we'll of course get the Mark VII, and it's that suit he was in for the final battle of the film, especially since he's to be posed with the whole team.
Still, If I could get this one for $400, I'd do it, but they all seem to go for $80-$100 more.

I really can't see the appeal of this, frankly, unless it was affordable enough to get instead of the previous Mark VI release which has risen in price. I can understand completists wanting it... but that's about it.

I think there's a very good chance that this will be available through Sideshow if you wait it out for awhile.

They are currently only distributing the 3000pcs in asia, should there be a leftovers (which I kinda doubt, considering how much they are going for on beat ATM) then I'm guessing they'll probably give sideshow some, just like the case with the MJ Beat It and Bat demon and Scarecrow.

If Sideshow is going to carry these there would already be an agreement in place and 500-1,000 of them or whatever would be set aside for Sideshow. This could very likely be the case.
I just wish they'd be upfront and let us know if they're going to be offering them or not. We don't have to know when, just that Sideshow will indeed be distributing SOME in NA. Obviously, it'd be smart on their part to do it sooner rather than later.

HT doesn't have the best track record for keeping to their 'limited editions' so just because they claim its only going to be 3,000 doesn't mean it will. HT loves money too much and will easily loop hole the 3,000 to just 3,000 in ASIA and not worldwide, thus letting Sideshow carry this like the previous Toy Fairs exclusives you mentioned. The question mark is whether or not they'll give us two Marvel exclusives. They've hinted left and right that the USO Captain America will be a con exclusive and I wonder if they'll throw in the Avengers Mark VI as well.

This wont be a Toy Fair exclusive imo, they've already announced how and where it'll be available why do that if they're going to go back on that and make it available at a much wider scale?

I present the example of the Hot Toys 10th Anniversary Demon Bat, Scarecrow, Beat It MJ and The Friend. They were supposed to only be available at those shows and sure enough they ended up on SS and other retailers.

Rest assured HT won't let any buyers for another MK VI go away hands empty...another (heavy battle damage?) version will be done if they want to capitalize on the coolest character in Avengers!!!

With the Mark VII, I bet we're going to be in the same situation as with this Mark VI. We'll get one for the Avengers, and then another for IM3, and then the Mark VIII. The cycle continues.
