What do they mean by "shrinking" the back portion? They're making the car more inaccurate in size to reduce the price?
The price shouldn't even be that high in the first place.
The ****?
Because I had nothing better to do and I am really tired of waiting for HT to show some specs, I compared KYEKYE diagram to a still of pTU! video with a shot closest resembling the angle. Looks like we are going to get an accurate length in the batmobile. I compared the wheel base from the diagram to the video and once I matched that, everything else also matched just fine. I really wish that somebody had just a tape measure and measured the damn thing but this will have to do.
And I vote 550 for the price. Let's not try to give HT a reason for a higher price just because some are willing to pay for it.
In my opinion, that Bandai 1/35th scale kit has the best representation of the Keaton Batmobile.
I love that kit so much. Mine is being build as we speak, and a Batcave diorama is gonna be build too.
Now, comparing the HT one and the Bandai one, man.... that HT one looks stubby, they need to emphasize the curve dip more.

Yep, perfect for The Bright Night.

I'm not seeing this truncated back-end they supposedly had to settle for. Maybe it's an illusion, but if anything the Hot Toys version seems taller more than it does shorter.Because I had nothing better to do and I am really tired of waiting for HT to show some specs, I compared KYEKYE diagram to a still of pTU! video with a shot closest resembling the angle. I love the underside of the Bandai one with the Batman Returns turntable molded into it. It's a nice movie-specific addition and really differentiates it from the AMT Ertl 1989 undercarriage (which is sweet too, btw).
That said, the entire rear section of the Bandai version, from the rear brake intake scoop, to the rear wheel fenders (which are also off in the HT proto pics) to the fins, all look way off to me. To date, the sharpest representation of the 89 Batmobile is the 1/18 Hot Wheels version. Proportion/shape wise, the whole of it and every section matches very closely with pictures of the real car. If they hadn't botched the headlights, (orange? really guys??) it would be perfect.

This concerns me too.
I mean at that scale and price you'd think we'd be beyond making compromises.
I'm really starting to wish it was more 1:7 or 1:8, more manageable size, no need to cut the back and cheaper; yet still way big enough to enjoy.
There are many statue items go over $1k mark among Sideshow items. I'd prefer the lower price for this item as a collector, but I'd rather have them focus on better details, LESS gimmicks and Quality Control.
