I think this will be available for awhile (few hours?)- SS will probably have a large amount reserved- hence the MANY changes in plan/release date this has gone through in a couple weeks. We'll see, I'm hoping....

I'm curious, where did you buy then retaane?

I thought this wasn't available at retailers yet, and the only other place than the toy fair itself was ebay or other auction site for scalping prices.

Can you explain why you feel this is this worth more in price than Captain America, Sgt Barnes, each Sucker Punch Girl, Alice, New Goblin and Spider-man?, because they are all under $200.

I don't mind paying 40 over to avoid stress and downed servers online come ordering day

And really what would a special window for SDCC attendees do anyway... getting the Non-Attendee orders seem to have been easier in general

That's cool, i'm starting to order from over here more though, the taxes, customs and charges come to 1/3 and sometimes 1/2 the price of the product itself.

I personally would value this at no more than $200, if its around that price i'll grab it at SSC. I doubt many places in the UK will have it, or will have for less than £400-£500.

I made some comparison shots for myself. I find there is a slight difference in the HS between the proto and the actual release but I can't quite put my finger on it. Here it is in case one of you want to see it:

Yeah, personally I think the chin is a little longer and perhaps the eyes painted differently but the lighting is definitely a big factor here. Anyways, I understand that these pictures are usually frowned upon (specially when the hs is already TOP NOTCH) but I just figured I post them anyways for those who want to see it.

Forbiddenplanet.com's figures are over £200 a time getting, then another £7 - £10 for shipping. Their shipping isn't the problem though.

Even worse, look at Iron Man. £250

It's insane.

It's paint apps, and subtle differences of them. Most of it is around the eyes. We just can't expect the prototype to match production. It never does, but HT seems to get the closest. I'd venture to say it's the eyebrows and eye lashes that are throwing you off. Production versions of those are always pretty uniform and patterned. That's not natural, and can throw things off a touch, but you gotta remember the people putting these together aren't going to have the skill of the first artist. They may use decals, etc. and have to get that thing down the line to the next guy/gal. What we get is usually closer than other companies seem to do. And, how often will you be looking so close at the figure to see patterns in the hair? Probably never, once you get it.

And, never underestimate the power of a master photographer. His job is to make it look real, and they'll use shadowing and lighting angles to bring out details.
