Re: Batman Begins: Batman/ Bruce Wayne (2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive)

I know the DX TDK open mouth expression is rarely used by collectors, including myself, but I've got to admit, they nailed that expression. As soon as I saw it, I was like "yep, that's Bale". That goofy expression that Bale makes with his mouth was nailed to a tee.

This open mouth, I'm not really impressed with but I know what they're going for. It's that whole, staypuft marshmellow, dramatic expression that he makes in Begins. "NOT WHO I AM UNDERNEATH BUT WHAT I DOOOOOOOOOOOO" Or, my favorite, "CAN YOU DRIVE STICK".

But yeah, I'll be using the angry expression. If I somehow get more than two (1 reg, 1 angry, 1 Bale first night out), then I'll use the neutral but have him posed differently from my OC TDK (which I'll probably finally have using his mangler because of this release). Time to get use out of it.

Oh yea I agreethat they got the open mouth right on the DX as you've explained, but I just rarely used it. And I know what they were goin for with this one, but I think it may be the poses they put him in with that mouth is what may be throwing it off for me. But still a fantastic release and I hope to have it. The articulation looks great which is also a reason to have this over the DX as I'm one who loves posing my figures.

Re: Batman Begins: Batman/ Bruce Wayne (2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive)

I don't wanna come off as one of these "entitlement douches" I hear spoken of, but one complaint, if I may, is that the exclusive nature of essentially a 2-in-1 figure kind of blows. Hard enough to get one at all, but if Sideshow's selling these they'll probably be restricted to 1-per-customer, and their edition size may well be sufficiently low that folks will hoard them all up for profit so others didn't have a fair chance to get one at retail. But some of us just want to display this figure two ways--as Batman and as Bruce. And that will just be that much more difficult given the exclusive nature of this thing. I can use my existing OC Batman for this purpose, but not everyone will have that option.

Anyways. . .I'm happy we're getting this at all, but that one thing kind of bugs me. If you're gonna make a rare exclusive, don't give him two separate looks that requires folks to buy two to display him both ways!!

Yep, my thoughts exactly.

Then that Bale head, while it is almost a straight rerelease this is more than simply a kitbash or a straight repaint like the Predator and Iron Man.

The reaction this thing has gotten is more along the lines of a regular release, almost a DX. It's pretty much deemed "essential" while past exclusives have been "meh, if I don't get it, I don't get it". Even OC TDK owners "need" this guy.

This happens all the time with exclusives though, so as of now, I'm not quite worried. I'm going to ride it out and see what happens. We all get way too panicky. I remember getting anxious for the Sarah Connor figure for the T-1000 donut head and it turned out fine. I remember all the anxiety that went with the Demon and Scarecrow set, and I have it upstairs in my collection and I've barely looked at it for months.

I'm optimistic.

Re: Batman Begins: Batman/ Bruce Wayne (2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive)

That new Bale head will be my default Bruce Wayne with that Toys2 suit I was considering selling but now definitely won't. I'd use the old Bruce Wayne head under that balaclava if I were to bother with that look. And if I do I'll put it on the MMS67 Batman and keep the new one as Full Batman.

The hair is a lot flatter on that head and would work much better.

SSC rep told me they have not been told or anticipate they will carry this figure. I asked if they usually are by now (by the time HT announces it), and she said not always. But, it appears they have not been approached to sell this one.

Re: Batman Begins: Batman/ Bruce Wayne (2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive).

It was as if thousands of Original Costume Batman owners cried out and were suddenly silenced.

:goodpost::lol:yess: Looks good but boring announcement. I'm in

No offense to the great Sideshow Reps but there are plenty of times where they can't say something so they play the "We aren't sure" card and plenty of times where they say "I don't think" only to have it pop up later. Until we hit the actual show we have to wait, it's completely possible as well that SSC might not sell until after the show or even put it up as a orderable item at SDCC.

We're all just waiting.

Time will tell. Just relaying what I was told rather than conjecturing out of thin air. It would suit me just fine if they carry it after all.

It was just announced last night. :p

It will show up at SDCC per HT, with or without SSC.

Oh I know. What I was saying is that sometimes reps conjecture out of thin air or at times simply just give the most PR answer possible because they don't in fact know.

Unfortunately, I will not show up at SDCC. So, I need a vendor to get this one. If not, I'll just have to wait until TDKR I guess.

Re: Batman Begins: Batman/ Bruce Wayne (2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive)

Toys2 will get some, they usually do and have had the past convention pieces, the real questions are when, how many and what they'll charge. They'll be other outlets other than SSC, just not as easy but my money is that SSC will get some.

Re: Batman Begins: Batman/ Bruce Wayne (2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive)

I wish I could just like, I don't know, teleport to the Hot Toys facility where these are most likely being held (I'm sure they have finished production) and just take like 2 or 3, throw down whatever the MSRP costs in cash, and be back home in time for *insert expression here*.

First thing I'd do is flaunt that I got them first with glorious pics (after I made love to them). Hot Toys wouldn't even know what hit them.
