how about these gas station lines?
Cops blocking off entrances and exits and only letting cars in one at a time. Un-freakin' believable. So thankful i filled up before the storm hit. Every single gas station has a line of at least 1/2 a mile. A gas station on route 17 north has a line over 2 miles long, yes two miles long. If there are multiple gas stations on one block, one gas station is reserved solely for pedestrians with gas cans for their generators and the other gas station is for vehicles. This is insane...never seen anthing like this before.

Some people didn't get out, houses down towards the beach in my neighborhood went from fine to fully submerged in ten minutes.
My hometown on SI (Tottenville) was decimated. Miraculously my Mom and her house are safe and sound. Thank you, thank you, thank you God!
Best to everyone suffering through the effected areas!!!
Just got word of what will be the most lasting effect on me(superficial or not), Krypton Comics of Staten Island was completely destroyed and will be closing its doors after 21 years.....a store I have been to every week since I was 5 when Artie opened(I went opening day--it's first location was across the street from me), a place I shared comic collecting with my father, a store with only one employee/owner who I know better than some family, the place I started buying sideshow through(and got good deals too), a place I filmed scenes in multiple films I've worked on in(I'm happy I was able to do that as it in a way immortalized it)....it's so weird but I honesty can't imagine not going to Krypton again.
just got power after 3 days without...woooo hooo...no statue damage. But its still a mess outside. Lines for gas are insane. I seen two ppl today about to fist fight after 1 car cut the line.

I hope this isn't taken the wrong way, but NY is a mess and yet people there expect everything to be back to normal RIGHT NOW! They're complaining that they don't have this or this or that the mess isn't cleaned up or whatever. My goodness! Give people time to take care of things!
Four days after Katrina there were news cameras at the Superdome wondering 'where's FEMA?'
It's been four days since Sandy and there are people eating out of dumpsters on Staten Island. They were hit harder than anywhere else in New York. Where's FEMA?
Bloomburg is still trying to make sure the NY Marathon will happen tomorrow. Priorities?
George Bush doesn't care about black people. Errr, wait.
