It's hard to say. I don't think I want to just say Inception since it just came out. I think some people would say Inception since it's not so much of a fanboy movie. But really both films are great and they both have things to think about.

I went with Inception, because I think it is a better movie.

I have trouble with the word prefer though, cause even though Inception is a more accomplished movie ( which is taking nothing away from TDK, as it is amazingly accomplished too) I might prefer to watch the TDK more often. Depends what kind of mood I am in I guess

apples to oranges. TDK had the very powerful performance of Ledger to carry the movie and all others paled in comparison as almost just support work. And there were a couple of weak performances that brought it down a bit.

In Inception, there were no weak performances nor filler moments IMO.

Seriously, this is like comparing your current supermodel wife to the first girl you kissed in 7th grade.

Rotten Tomatoes:

Inception: 84%

The Dark Knight: 93%

As to my personal "preference", it's too early to say. I wave seen The Dark Knight several times and have only seen Inception once so far, and it definitely requires multiple viewings to digest.

I don't know which one could be considered better (how do you even measure that?) but I like The Dark Knight much more.

Why The Dark Knight? Because it's about the goddamn Batman and possibly the best villain ever, THE JOKER. Batman vs. The Joker > Nolan's self-indulging "artsy" film.

The opinion of two of the biggest contrarian mainstream critics = :dunno

Really if I read or hear one more Reviewer saying it was not Dreamy enough I will :gah:
The point is you are not meant to know you are dreaming

Well the Rotten Tomato's numbers represent all critics.

I just think the Inception can have "fan boys" too. ;)

That's a total strawman argument. "Fanboys" of a film that's been out for 3 days compared to decades of Batman fanboyism? Please.

Besides, TDK has been overvalued, overrated and overblown for 2 years now. Especially on these boards. :lol

:lol Well at least you're being honest. Most diehard TDK fans would actually attempt to stack that film up against INCEPTION artistically. No contest.

It's not so much being a diehard TDK fan than it is being a diehard Batman fan.

The Dark Knight, for me wasn't immune to criticism when it debuted. It still isn't. When things get blown out of proportion from hype these films get tiresome for me. Especially when they're over analyzed just like I knew this one would be. Maybe I'm "hatin just to hate" or trolling but once I start seeing "the director of our generation", "the best film to date" and all this other sophisticate stuff I just take a step back before I start to lose it.

I get what you're saying completely. The problem with TDK, though, is that "the hype" you mentioned is still ongoing. It's never ended since the film came out 2 years ago.

I think you (and others) are perfectly capable of being Inception "fanboy" in 3 days (even if "fanboy" doesn't fit your definition here.) The point is, you are on an Inception high right now. Precisely because it is 3 days old and fresh in your mind it is the end all to beat all.

93% vs. 84% on Rotten Tomatoes is what I'm talking about. (And if I remember right, at this point in TDK's release it was 96%, so the 93% is what it has settled at.) I don't care what people are saying "on these boards." And who are you to say that all critics have over valued and overblown The Dark Knight?

Regarding myself, I will again say that it is too early to say which I prefer, but if I decide I prefer TDK it will not be because I am a "fanboy". Even though I like Batman collectibles, I don't own a single Batman comic. My thoughts about TDK as a movie are just that: Was it a good movie. Not was it the greatest movie ever because it is about a character I worship.

thats true fanboyism! :rock take the hype made for the film about a year ago and still have it goin strong a year later, it was a good movie but not the best.
