It was a good movie but not the best.

That could be said about EVERY movie to date. What is the best? How do you measure "the best". Who decides? Critics? Fans? The general audience?

I guess we wouldn't have these discussions if those questions were answered.

I think you (and others) are perfectly capable of being Inception "fanboy" in 3 days (even if "fanboy" doesn't fit your definition here.) The point is, you are on an Inception high right now. Precisely because it is 3 days old and fresh in your mind it is the end all to beat all.

:lol Whatever. The comparison is completely invalid. In fact, were it not for Nolan being the filmmaker responsible for both films this ridiculous comparison (probably) wouldn't even exist.

And INCEPTION "fanboys" on par with TDK? Where??? To my knowledge, it hasn't completely infested and overcome an entire Forum on here... and I don't see 57 petitions for Hot Toys figures and craziness like that.

I'm not a "fanboy" for INCEPTION. It's an amazing film that I'll likely see once more in a theater and then own on Blu-ray. But I have no desire to have it define who I am or own a bunch of toys, t-shirts, etc from it.

The point is that the very existence of this thread is because TDK fanboys are still fishing for validation of some kind. There is no other reason to even remotely compare the two films.

Fine. Let's stop using the word "fanboy". I was using it loosely, and that's why I kept putting it in quotation marks.

Point is you have Inception colored glasses on right now. Nothing wrong with that. That's how I was after The Matrix.

Inception is an incredible movie that I will watch multiple times. It's too early for me to say if it's better than the Dark Night, although the critics seem to think TDK was better.

There is no other reason to even remotely compare the two films.

What about "teh Chris Nolen" or C-Nol as some call him? There's also the fact that the supporting cast is very similar to Batman Begins. That's two reasons to compare both films.

INCEPTION colored glasses?? How? I haven't said even remotely like "it's the best film ever", or even the best film of the year. I've merely stated that it's a great film, and superior to THE DARK KNIGHT and I've discussed/dissected it a little in the movie's thread. That's having colored glasses on?

Man, Batman/TDK fanboys are so easily butthurt. And TDK is actually winning this poll, which is of course no shock here. :lol

I'm a Batman fanboi am I easily butthurt? :lol

This "siding" bull____ will never stop. It's what ruined Inception from the get go for me and probably every future film I look forward to seeing.

What do I blame? The Internet and all of it's interactive message boards. Actually discovering something for yourself is a thing of the past. Now you have millions and millions of people out there to dictate and tell you what something is and how it works. I hate seeing "oh I'll check the reviews out for this film and if it's good I'll go see it, if it's bad I won't". No go out and discover what it's all about for yourself. We're all easily influenced by one anothers ideas that we never stop to think on our own.

I miss the underdogs in films that you don't really see anymore. Like Star Wars, nobody believed in that film until it came out. Fast forward to today and Avatar was dubbed a masterpiece and magical before it was even released.

The best example might be Blade Runner which is perfect considering it's being compared to Inception. Was Blade Runner a hit when it was first released or heralded as the film of the year? I don't think so. It took years for it to have the following it currently has today.

Those films started from the bottom and could only go up. What happens with these modern films that ALWAYS started at the top? I would imagine people will get sick of them, I know I am.

Seriously? Stop paying attention to the BS then. ;)

Not butthurt. And I haven't voted yet. As I've said I'm undecided.

Ultimatly this is a matter of preference. Some will end up agreeing with the critics others will not.

I like The Prestige. :dunno

Well like Inception, it left me needing to see it again to put it all together, but unlike Inception it had no likeable characters. That doesn't make it a bad movie, I just don't personaly like stories in which everyone is an a hole. :dunno

Nolan's body of work is shaping up quite nicely.

I couldn't bring myself to vote in this poll, but I will say that of all the films released this year that feature Leonardo DiCaprio retreating into a questionable reality that exists only in his mind in order to cope with the death of his wife, Inception is by far my favorite.
