Oh, you are gonna love this.

While trying to fix the mistake on my sculpt, the airbrush decided to suddenly splatter big time. So, looks like I have to start mine all over.

Good news though, the others are just fine & hope to get them done very very soon.

Then onto the hatless ones.

Look at it this way, when you redo it you might think up some extra little thing you can do to make it look even better.

Any chance of a preview of the hatted ones?

I'm down to the details on yours & InkedDaleks. I've got some great huge reference pix to match up his skin tones & spots. Pretty much have the eyes left & a bit of subtle work in the hair.

I'd give a preview but I hate showing a partially done piece. It looks incomplete & just not quite right.

I will say this though. I blocked the hat in, then used the spatter tip to make his hat look kinda like felt. It's subtle but effective.

This one is turning out to be as much work as the Punisher War Zone. I just keep going back...

Thanks again for allowing me to be a part of you great folks projects.

Love the Who love

OK, not a problem on the preview.

I like the sound of the texturing you've done on the hat, really shows the dedication to the job. Must be great working on a project that gives you an excuse to watch some of Tom's stories again :)

Dude, love the avatar.

The texturing is subtle, I didn't want it to look "spattered", but more natural.

I've seen so much Who building up to the ID's release of these brilliant pieces I'm surprised that I don't know the dialogue off by heart, like I do with Punisher: War Zone.

But hey, it's impossible to tire of Who. They bear repeat watches. I can't explain my love for the show. I just do. Maybe cuz he's more of a hero to the intelligent, not a gun wielding meat head (no offence, I like those kinda shows as well).

I can relate to Tom's smart a** whit. I tend to do it a lot myself.

Tomorrow, further updates on painting as I'll be taking Mon-Tues off for matters of the heart. Man cannot live on Who alone.

Update
Started basing out the hatless & yes, re-basing out my own hatted version due to the afore mentioned mess up. Well, letting the clear coats dry, then hope to get a little more done as far as the details work on ID's & BCM's pieces. I hate when it gets close to the end. It's always a little bittersweet when completing a paint up. At least I have more folks pieces on the way. And yes, more Toms.

WST
My Grandmother was German, she had a great sens of humor. When I was a kid, we were shopping & saw this skinny guy. She says look at his knucklefunger, I asked her what the H that was & she said his pronounced adam's apple. Never forgot this.

Better than Re-Tardis or another one of my Dad's, Delicatessen Jack, or his latest Curry cuz I smoke Djarum kretek cigarettes.

My nieces call me J.O. Joe or J (cuz they say I remind them of Jay Adams from Lords of Dogtown).

Glad you like the sig, our very own WST made it, another example of the awesomeness of the Who fans on here.

I totally agree on Who or the Classic era at least. In the 4 years since I first watched a story from the old days I've since bought 61 other DVD's and watched another 30 or so stories online and the best ones never get boring to watch especially from the first 4 Doctors.

I think Tom's wit as is why I like him so much and he's just the same when being himself on DVD commentaries and what you don't learn about the story ( as he can never remember the details ) is more than made up for with his random comments and anecdotes which are hilarious eg,

"I work much better when I have no idea what I'm doing"

"Several directors passed away shortly after working with me"

"They replaced me with a bloody vet!"
( Prior to getting the Who gig, Peter Davison starred in a series based around a vetinary practice. )

Oh damn, I gotta re watch them with the extra audio commentaries. I've seen very few Hartnell & Troughton though. What I've seen I loved. There is such an innocence to the shows yet they always bear a heavier lesson. Like Shakespeare, it works on several levels.

I'm honestly just happy to watch the T.Baker & Pertwee stuff. Not that I dislike any others, I just like their portrayal. Like Delgado as well. Fiendish, without saying a word.

Now for an update
-Hatted versions need a subtle adjustment to the sideburns, clear coat, then onto the eyes. Ho Ha
-also started your hatless one Brendan. That baby is gonna be so much easier to do as the hair at the back of the neck is more filled in. Got a lot of work done on the initial few shades tonight following a monster work out. I think it helped to settle my nerves.

Tomorrow, date night. Wish me luck. Do you think I should say, "unless you let me touch those things, I'm gonna be staring at them all night"

My bro's been calling me Dean Winchester. Not sure if this is a compliment or not.

What I've seen of Doctors 1 & 2 has left me wanting to see more but sadly there's not a great deal of their respective runs left in the archives that hasn't already been released on DVD.

From the first 6 years of the show 108 of 253 episodes are missing due to the BBC's old policy of wiping the film stock for reuse. Several stories have been found over the years, usually in other countries that the BBC sold the show to.

A few Pertwee episodes were also rediscovered this way including part 3 of "Planet of the Daleks" which had to have the color restored.

There's always the hope more reels will be found but obviously as time goes by the chance lessens. If only someone could make a real TARDIS we could go back and save it all.

If you get the chance watch the "Frontier In Space" DVD which is part of the "Dalek War" box set with "Planet of the Daleks" as one of the extras is a feature on Roger Delgado and has interviews with various people who worked with him as well as his widow plus lots of clips from his overall career.

If Tom Baker was the definitive Doctor Roger Delgado was the definitive Master, he could do more with a chilling stare than anything his successors did and having learnt that he was a decent guy in real life makes his loss to the show and to the world in general an even more tragic one.

Good to hear the heads are coming along and best of luck on the date, not sure you should make that comment though :lol

And don't ask her to adjust your sonic screwdriver either ;)

Eh hem I agree don't ask to touch the jelly babies , not yet anyway.
Best of luck old chap.

Thanks guy's, all I really want is honesty. It's a bonus that she happens to be gorgeous. I'm most interested in what's in a woman's head & heart.

Known her for years, & it just kinda feels right.

Ok, no Jelly Babies, or Sonic. I did go out with a chick that did have a chrome thing that buzzed, pretty sure it wasn't a sonic.

Got my hatted version all painted up now - as knucklefunger's said it's a great sculpt and a joy to paint...

"Care for a jelly baby?"

Once again, thanks to Inked Dalek for making the Tom figure that Product Enteprise tried to deny us possible :clap

And thanks to Vikki for the costume & Evelyn at Treasuredolls for the extra long scarf :D

Can anyone give me pointers on dremeling the hole for the neck post?

Nick, what body is your Tom on?

Miskatonic, I hate you in a good way. Looks fantastic!!!!!

Pixle, I use a rough triangular bit to core it, then use a smooth sanding bit that looks like a barrel, just to smooth it out. Bingo, ready to go.

Thanks, folks :)

Pixeltwin, the body is a BBi 1.0 given a bit more height by a pair of feet from an Obitsu normal male figure. Nicely poseable, plenty of swappable hands and while it might not boast the super-poseability of a Hot Toys it's neck joint makes it very easy to swap heads; there's the HT ball joint in the body as usual but the early BBi's came with a flat topped neck nodule onto which the head sculpt fitted (via a removable plug). Just glue the custom head onto this nodule (don't even need to drill out neck holes!) and pop it onto the ball joint for a solidly fixed head with a wide range of movement which can then be very easily swapped (without the prising and levering I occasionally have to apply to a HT neck) should you never need to.

... which is handy for Tom as, for his more serious moments, I've got the Neil Sims sculpt to use...

Oh damn, I got that sculpt as well. Nice to see how it looks painted. It is dead on serious Tom. Nice to have options.

Anyone use a TTL WW II body? They're slimmer, but how do they measure up for quality?
