It's just because they're the mech-test boots. I don't think the regular feet have the lights, which sucks. I mean the figure looks great, there's just a couple things I wish they had done feature wise.

I feel ya, I have always wanted lights on the bottoms of there feet for cool flight poses. I'm happy that we at least got them for the mech test boots but I actually would have preferred them on the regular feet over the mech test boots. Oh and I saw in a video review that the lights are for sure not included with the regular boots.

The two big things I would have liked is an articulated abdomen and new forearms and hand guards. Not a huge deal though, especially the abdomen as I almost always just display my Iron Men in the armor gallery style just standing there.

The other big compromise: Reduction of 2 points of articulation of the knee to 1.

Though 1 (or 2) of the 3 heads have a slot/depression behind that enable Mk. 2 to look up better.

Dang I still can't make up my mind on wether to get this guy or the new mark I. I only have enough money to order one at the moment and I really want both! Agh, decisions, decisions....

Mark I!

a) It's the very first Iron Man in the comics
b) It has amazing detail (real wires!)
c) simply Massive

Yep, concerning this last point, it's a good thing that HT made ... I improved the helmet of my Mk3 BD by this way long time ago.

I agree with you guys and I would have wished so much that HT pushes their limits even further:
- Articulated abdomen according to the principle utilized on recent Mk
- Mech-test boots rectified so they can be covered by the armor (ie like the thighs or biceps)
- Keep gadgets such as flares hips or micro-ammo shoulder (improved on Mk4 / 6)

... In other words: keep the good and correct errors. One can dream... :monkey3
Despite the interest that I have to this figure, I can not help thinking that HT has exercised easiness in some points ... Business requires? :dunno

Question for anyone who has it, is the neck post seperate like on the IV/VI?

@xenom0rph

Is the pelvis area made of plastic or rubber? I mean, is the same as Mark IV/ VI or is different?

Yes, but it doesn't have that range of motion. You need to pop it out to get it to move that far forward. I have actually considered just pulling the ball joint out of the body since friction keeps the neck in place and without the ball it has a much greater range of motion.

Excellent. When the neck pops out you can fake a great range of motion and more natural neck angle by not setting the neck fully on the ball joint. It's what I do for my Mark IV and VI ("better" on the right) and I think it looks loads better.

Is it pretty easy to get the neck out of the balljoint without damaging any of the paint? In definitely looks more natural when you do that.

You can just yank the head off. They're made to be pulled out so you can swap for the Stark head on the IV.

uggh here I am trying to sell all my iron man figures and this thread has made me want to buy another. I always thought it was silly to need all the different versions of the suit, but they really are all different. Well, the iii is rubbish in my opinion, the iv made it obsolete.

It won't be long until they upgrade the Mk. III based on the Mk. II Armor Unleashed design and upgrades.
