Good gravy.$155 for this? MMS Mk 47 is gonna be $250 plus......getting crazy here
I like it and looks cool but Kotobukiya has been put out of IM statue business now..HT is cornering the market
What's next? IM model kits?

I ordered this then realized what it was and promptly cancelled it. :rotfl

Thought some logical and common sense might have hit Hot Toys in their pricing department.

....I was wrong...

yeah you were but you had hope...briefly...for a return of the good 'ol days of HT:slap:rotfl

I think it's a cool looking figure, but I don't think that people are being unreasonable when they say "enough." There's such a thing as overkill, and HT are going above and beyond in that department. That smug little tease; "maybe 42?" Since the beginning of this year, it's been pretty much nothing but Iron Man 3 teases and reveals, and it's ridiculous. Now they're saying that this **** could be going on until the end of April?

They've made every mark from the first and second films, they've remade every mark from the first film and done countless variations of many from the second, they've already teased that they'll be remaking them a third time in Die Cast, and now they're saying they want to make all of the marks between this one and the MK VII as statues? Jesus H. Popsicle stick, that's a lot, and you can't tell me that it isn't going to piss off their customer base.

Regardless of what the Iron Man fanatics say, they aren't HT's entire customer base, and this will only serve to alienate other fanbases and, most likely, cost HT business. On the note of Iron Man fanatics, can any of you who own all of the IM stuff so far tell me with a degree of certainty that you would pay 150 bucks a pop 32 times to have all of these?

I have to believe IM is HT's biggest selling figure(along with Batman) and these Marks sell 10 times more than most other HT figures.
They are following the cash cow all the way to the bank/barn

I like it and the price isn't bad either. I mean the Mark VII is $250 so this is nearly $90 cheaper. I'm honestly really tempted to get this and pass on the figure when it comes out.

Yep.

There's a reason they keep pumping out Iron Man/Tony Stark, the character sells. They wouldn't do it other wise. Shouldn't surprise anyone, there IS an Iron Man film coming out soon isn't there?

An Iron Man 3 announcement would be alright if it was an actual Mark XLII MMS figure or Mandarin or War Machine 2.0 or Iron Patriot, not this subline junk. Do people in this hobby want statues, busts and cosbabies when there are 1/6 figures? I"m not so sure.

hope they don't raise the price of this figurine from time to time, if they did that, then i'll just wait for the MMS release of the other 42 suits (if they making one though)

Take it as read that any price increase in this series will be echoed by a similar price increase in the MMS series :lol

Considering how the prices of the figures keep rising, I can already see this happening for some people.

Statues aren't that bad (or perhaps in this case it's actually more or less correct to call it a Scale Figure). I think people are overreacting on this because they can't wait for the actual figure to come out (or they just want other releases). With the IM line growing so big and more expensive by the numbers, all I see is that IM fans are simply getting a bit more variety, and I find that there's nothing really wrong with that.

That only makes sense to people who are into the hobby of collecting articulated figures. I know some people out there are actually more into scale figures or statues. Even as someone who collects both articulated figures and static ones, I find that both fall under their own respective standard of aesthetics (which is why I can't really hate this figure). More than anything I feel like this is just HT expanding their reach for a broader audience due to the Iron Man boom, for better or worse.

just a line to complete with kotobukiya vinyl statues. its not for me, but it looks pretty good if you are into that sorta thing.

Honestly, I am just getting burned out from ALL the Iron men figures. The latest Tony Stark is an easy pass for me - I bought this figure the first time around when it was Mech Test Tony Stark and cost nearly $120 less.

I was trying to buy all the Iron Man and Avengers figures for the completist in me, but I realized that the prices they are asking are simply going through the roof and collecting stops being fun when you feel like you are taking a sock in the gut each time you open the ol' bank statement.

If you like this line of figures or the upcoming die cast figures and have the money for them - great! I am going to pass on stuff like this and Hot Toys is making it easier the more they grab for my wallet.

After that they are going to make stickers, candies and kids costumes to dominate further

this Kotobukiya Action Figure looks nice to! and its 1/6 as well

:goodpost: :exactly:

Their choices to stick with the same franchises/characters that i've bought from them already has left this customer with the smallest pre-order list in years
