the opening scene of TDKR is 10000000000000x better then this whole film.

this movie does not even compare to TDKR.
the Dark knight trilogy still the best super hero movies ever made.

all hopes now on MAN OF STEEL.

After seeing the film I watched the teaser again. Yeah the twist was funny, but after I had a little chuckle to myself my heart sank wishing the teaser was the film they had promised.

Their marketing was the dumbest thing ever! They hype up the Mandarin and all the fans go ape****. Everyone sees the movie with excitement for Iron Man fighting probably his greatest foe only to see that they completely destroyed the portrayal and instead had Iron Man (and I use that term loosely since Iron Man was hardly in the movie) fight a fire-breathing Guy Pierce that just completely destroys all of Stark's suits with no trouble at all. On top of that, She Hulk Paltrow destroys the villain...

Such a failure on so many levels...so sad

What a major let down from my most anticipated movie of the year...
The twist I kinda figured... as even towards the middle of the movie, there were no character buildups on Mandarin except for the mundane TV broadcasts.
I just wanted to see Tony and the new armors kicking *** showing what they can do. It was almost sad to see the armors being mutilated so many times, and Tony blowing em all up in the end, turning them into expensive firework tools to create a cheesy romantic scene with Pepper. After seeing the movie, I have zero interest in getting the new armor figures except maybe a Mk42.
I can't believe I rather enjoyed "Oblivion" more than this movie. I hope Superman next month will turn out to be good getting off the bad taste in my mouth.

Just curious, if people don't want to read spoilers for a movie that is out in theaters, why don't they just stay out of the thread that discusses THE MOVIE?

I avoided this thread and most of the other IM3 threads for the last month because I didn't want things spoiled. This movie is in theaters worldwide, and yes it just came out yesterday, but if you don't want it spoiled, you're just setting yourself up for disappointment by even reading this thread.

Lots of people will check a movie thread to see if people are liking it or not if they are on the fence on whether or not to see it...I get to be here because of reported posts because people aren't using spoiler tags. Now I know what the movie is about....I probably won't be seeing it.

Didn't take long for people to **** all over this one.

It was received extremely well critically before it hit last night/today, I guess American audiences are a different animal.

I'll post my thoughts later, I didn't think it was anywhere near as bad as folks in this thread make it out to be though. My theater was packed and everyone seemed to be loving it (as much enthusiasm as Avengers). It wasn't even bad really. I thought it was a good movie, more focused than Iron Man 2 anyway.

I guess I could see how hardcore comic fans would be offended, glad I'm not one of those. I didn't even know who the hell the Mandarin was until recently so I thought what went on worked.
