As a movie it was fine. As an Iron Man movie it sucked...
Didn't take long for people to **** all over this one.
It was received extremely well critically before it hit last night/today, I guess American audiences are a different animal.
I'll post my thoughts later, I didn't think it was anywhere near as bad as folks in this thread make it out to be though. My theater was packed and everyone seemed to be loving it (as much enthusiasm as Avengers). It wasn't even bad really. I thought it was a good movie, more focused than Iron Man 2 anyway.
I guess I could see how hardcore comic fans would be offended, glad I'm not one of those. I didn't even know who the hell the Mandarin was until recently so I thought what went on worked.
After seeing the film I watched the teaser again. Yeah the twist was funny, but after I had a little chuckle to myself my heart sank wishing the teaser was the film they had promised.

that trailer makes the movie look so epic but it's False advertising.
Well thank you for making that decision for me and others who have not seen it.
Batman retired, how is that any different or better than the twist in IM3?
Bruce created a symbol of hope, Killian created a symbol of fear.
Bruce's Batman legend presents a feeling of hope regardless who is behind the cowl, right?
Then the image of Mandarin presents fear regardless who's under the "Mandarin" cloak.
Anyone can be Batman, right?
So anyone can be the Mandarin.
dont try to defend this movie. as a movie is good as an IRON MAN/SUPER HERO movie is not good.
dude please ! this movies have nothing alike.
NOTHING !!!

I think people should give it a go, overall it's a good film, I just don't get how some critics are saying it's the best Marvel film to date? I would not even put it in the top 10.

Bruce's creation of a symbol for hope is no different than Killian using Mandarin as a symbol to create fear.
Yet Batman is getting a pass.
What I like about this movie is that Mandarin can still be out there.
Mandarin/Killian twist > Bane/Talia twist
I almost cried from laughter at seeing the Ben Kingsley "Mandarin" reveal. I know nothing about comics Mandarin, but I loved the twist here. Kingsley nailed evil Mandarin and washed up pathetic "Mandarin".
OLE OLE OLEEEEEEEE!
I actually dug Killian (real Mandarin) too. I'm not a Guy Pearce fan but I liked him in this. Waaaaaaaaaay better than Whiplash.
