Saw it and enjoyed it a lot! Great entertaining flick and can't wait for Tony Stark's return!

Yeah, the more I think about it the more I really enjoyed what I saw. Ive seen some of these things used in the comics before with him so it was neat to see it come to life. I'm also curious going forward if they might bring in the bleeding edge armor now that he doesn't have the reactor in his chest.

In extremis story, Stark also injects into himself, in the movie it was PP, but by force.

Interesting.

I figured there would be a reason why in Avengers 2, but he says she's cured at the end. :dunno

Anyways, after credit scene huge missed opportunity to set up future movies like Phase 1 did.

No GOTG, no Thor 2, no Cap 2, no Antman, just a cute scene trying to play off the relationship from Avengers 1.

Yea lol, during the final fight, I was like it would be so cool if Tony's new friend from the Avengers just showed up and started tearing everyone to pieces.

If the first Iron Man was the beginning of Marvel Phase 1, is this the end of it, and Thor dark world the beginning of phase 2?

I think he did inject himself with it at the end though. Hence the medical team being able to take out the shrapnel without killing him.

If he did, I missed it, but that would have been a great explanation as to why they finally were able to remove the shards and weren't able to before. Heck he could also regow his sternum, etc... and be perfectly healthy for next film.

I said that too. I also asked the question as to why Captain America wouldn't have been tasked with protecting the President?

Yeah, I'll probably see it a second time just to make sure. I don't think I'm getting confused with the podcast that I listened to with Shane Black (originally, they were going to have Pepper not wanting to give up the power and enlightenment and agreeing when Tony decides to make some sacrifices himself).

I can't remember it word for word, but during that montage at the end I swear Stark insinuated that he injected himself with some. It's when he's on the operating table and he has that same thing on his arm the other extremis guys had during the lab sequence. He says something like "like I promised Pepper, sorted it out with tinkering, but thought why stop with extremis there, something, something, something progress etc."

Could be wrong though.

In the famous words of one Di Fa bi o

Wut.

Why do some blow up

Because it's called "IRON MAN 3" and if Captain America showed up, Nova would have a fit.

They're damned if they do, damned if they don't. People complained Iron Man 2 was too SHIELD heavy with too many connections to promote Avengers. Now, Iron Man 3 does it's own thing and it's not enough.

My thinking is, Cap is too busy dealing with whatever the Winter Soldier is about and Thor is chilling in Asgard doing his thing with the Dark World. If these characters meet up in any way, it's Avengers 2 isn't it? :lol

Why do some blow up

Instability. Killian had said that some people's cells reject it and some accept it and they didn't know why. The chick believed Tony had perfected the formula while he was drunk thats why she wanted him to join them. This was pretty much a total rip off of "Tony Stark built this in a cave with scrap parts". She was insinuating that a drunk Tony Stark fixed her equation and that over the following 13 years, she still couldn't fully figure it out. :dunno

:exactly:

while i'll take a team up movie over a single character movie any day of the week, i'll take what I can get.

I also never complained about IM2 regarding that, I was excited for the Avengers build up.

I said that too. I also asked the question as to why Captain America wouldn't have been tasked with protecting the President?

I think it would complicate the movie if other superheroes came in and helped seeing as they are getting their own sequels. They would all have to start helping each other out in every movie and thus, make Avengers 2 pointless.

Well, I think this flick was easily the best of the IM films thanks in no small amount to Sir ben Kingsley's turn as the Mandarin.

They've already addressed the whole "why aren't The Avengers in every movie" question. The answer was - the movies are no different in the comics. There are Avengers comic books and there are Iron Man comic books. That doesn't mean that every time Tony Stark is in trouble, Thor and Hulk show up to bail him out.

I need someone to answer this for me.....I've seen IM3 twice now and still can't figure out what that big hulk of metal behind Pepper is in this scene. I thought maybe it was what's left of the race car, but it has red in it and I didn't think the race car had any red.

Does anyone know?
