I loved the movie up-to and through the attack on Stark Manor. I knew Tennessee would spell trouble. It started well with the crash and the indian then came the "sidekick." After the sidekick he went all McGuyver which was fine then IT happened and "I neveeeeer saaaaaw it coooooming" :thud:

I tried getting amped during Air Force One only to find that was a scam as well. I couldn't get back into the film afterwards. I was a "hot mess." :wink1:

MOS, please save us.

Save who? I can only speak for myself but I don't feel I need to be saved. IM3 was pretty awesome. I think MOS will be at worst equally awesome but speaking for myself I walked out quite entertained.

Remote suit doesn't bother me. It's not like he spent the whole movie in his living room. It's a logical extension of where the technology was going. It's also true to the comics. I'm fine with it, there were many other bigger problems with the movie.

Yeah, I don't have an issue with it being done and it does get done in the comic. I think some folks need to read some recent Iron Man comics to understand some of what they're pulling from. I would like to him in the suit a bit more.

Wow, it's just so irritating you know. Iron Man up to now was such an awesome concept. A regular guy doing amazing things in these cool armors. Why would you mess up with that? Remember the first time Tony took the Mark II for a ride? Great scene! Or remember when Tony had to escape those 2 Raptor Jets? How meaningless would these scenes become if he wasn't inside the suit. I think the biggest reason I hate this movie is because they messed with the formula too much. Why take him off the armors? Why take off his arc reactor? This movie would have been great as a finale for the series (the last Iron Man movie) but they got bring him back for Avengers 2 AND 3! Why change everything half way through the series?

 :gah:

Just remember it wasn't irritating for many of us. None of what has happened was ruined for myself and if anything this movie only made things better. He isn't always in the armor in the comics so its not a big deal. He no long has the arc reactor and his actual armor comes out of his bones.

Alot if not most of the complaints aren't about comic accuracy from stereotypical geeks, but being a generally disapointing movie in and of itself.

Was it a comedy? Was it a deep story about PTSD? Was it trying to show him as being a hero without the suits? Was it about terrorism? Was it an ending for the character?

It seemed to try to be about all of these and it made the movie a mess.

Disappointing movie for some. Not all. Just so we have our actual facts in order. It had bits and pieces of all and it worked for a lot of us.

Look at it this way now you have more thing dealing with Iron Man to complain about. :lol

Ok, please save me. :lol

Yeah, it's great. No problem at all with Tony "McGyver" Stark. It made perfect sense, not only for the character as established but the plot at the time as well.

I've grown to be cool with the Mcgyver Stark. At first I was like, 'he's in rural TENNESSEE! They'll give out guns to anyone. Hit up a store!' and then thought about it. Stark can't even shoot a gun straight :lol. Building gadgets is his thing, so it definitely makes sense.

Downey definitely made the movie enjoyable. I'm hoping they give him another 6 picture deal. Looking at the numbers this is bringing in I'm sure Disney is taking notice that they need him.

Yeah, what is $50million when you can make a billion profit (like this movie just made).

I'm really gonna be bummed when he's no longer stark. He's just so brought this character to life.

Are the fire people/ fake Mandarin in the comics, or did they just make it up? I liked it either way, but a part of me was disappointed with the "fake" Mandarin. I thought he was scary before the ****.

Edit: I said p-o-o-p and they edited it out... wow

can someone confirm for me that iron patriot did not have any scenes where he was actually fighting? i don't even remember him firing his machine gun on his back or killing any fire dudes.

Nope he had no action other than kicking in a couple of doors whatsoever
Oh he did do a salute so best order a £219 figure just for that one sceen

Saw it today I liked it I see why comic fanboys hated it welcome to the club its what raimi did to venom but this was worse .lots of flaws though still enjoyed it though im not a ironman fan.

Marvel combined extremis with Mandarin for this movie when Killian yelled I am king of the lava people...errrr...I am Mandarin.

2 very separate things in the comics.

Now Mandarin's super power is this:
