if everyone remembers, the timeline was skewed in the first star trek by nero and his returning to the past with a powerful ship from the future. spock's mom died, kirk's father died. the timeline was NEVER corrected. or does abrams contend that this is the timeline to be in, skewed or not? fans of the new franchise should expect that to be fixed, but it doesn't look like it from the previews. looks like a possible renegade against the federation again but the actual storyline isn't explained either. if jj abrams doesn't want to piss off every star trek fan in the universe, he'd better not bank they have memory loss. inconsistencies will not be tolerated. :gah:

Who cares, it's Star Trek. :rotfl

I'll be content if Stark uses one armor in his next outing, and he's in it.

merchandising my dear boy...merchandising. it's all connected!!!!

I hope it all blows up in hot toys greedy faces and they make jack **** from the 17890 figs they are releasing from this flick.

**** them. They got to have their cake and eat it too with this movie.

Cause and effect... the movie which I did enjoy, definitely cooled my fire of wanting some of the upcoming Hot Toys offerings. I am sure they'll still sell out everything they offer without me, but I don't feel all the suits offered anyhting to my Iron Man experience.

:(:(:(:(:(

Especally since the airplane rescue went flawless, there's nothing he can't do remotely. :gah:

Yeah, I really, really, really hated that. It immediately made the Air Force One rescue much less impactful. I went from "Hooray!!" to "WTF? lame" with that silly reveal. And it's worse because it was absolutely unnecessary. Gah. Oh well.

Just downloaded and installed the IM3 App for my Son's Ipad. He is in heaven. Actually looks pretty cool (for kids) and the background music is actually music from the movie score.

Oh, he just unlocked the Mk V suit. he loves that one. He's in heaven now. :)

After seeing IM3, I seriously have a strong feeling MAN OF STEEL is gonna suck. As we know from TDKR and IM3, it's easy to take three minutes from a 200 million dollar movie and create an amazing trailer.

It's all about selling toys and what I call Genre-Escalation; The Avengers was about a huge alien invasion, and every subsequent comic movie feels like it has to top or at least match that; This is why the last act of IM3 had fire-breathing lava people jumping off cranes fighting 50 Iron Man suits.

I'm sure MOS will be decent entertainment for the first two thirds (where it will liberally borrow from the Donner films, with more CGI, a "grittier" tone, generic Zimmer score and a bleaker color-palette,) and go full-retard with the alien invasion stuff in the final act.

Remote suit doesn't bother me. It's not like he spent the whole movie in his living room. It's a logical extension of where the technology was going. It's also true to the comics. I'm fine with it, there were many other bigger problems with the movie.

Nope. And that's all I can or will say.

People need to stop making these instant comparisons anyway. They are very different films. And it's not a race or a contest.

i really don't understand why you hate it so. from the beginning of the trilogy, pepper's biggest problem with tony was he risked his life every time he became iron man. as he explained after new york, he now wants to make sure all the important things in his life are no longer at risk...including his own life. his relationship with pepper became the most important thing to him. that's the storyline...gushy but very good IMO.

Not going to get into the why now as I just got out but I really enjoyed it. I'm a batman guy obviously so I'm bias but that was by far my favorite Marvel movie. I think I loved the fact he was hardly in the suit.

THE only thing I can possibly think they did that for, based entirely on shaky assumption is that he wanted to save the suits power for the rescue by not having to worry about the suit dealing with carrying his added weight as well. What did he say the suit's power level was charged at on the boat before he had said 'That will have to do'?

A few added lines of dialogue here and there would have REALLY helped out and explained odd examples in this movie like the call-it-in Air Force One rescue...
