I can see maybe mentioning them more but in their solo series (comics) they don't usually get help from the other Avengers. This isn't going to be that much different.

I don't need the other avenger to show up but at least reference them. That's all I ask and that's what they did in all the phase 1 films. Rhodes even asked tony about they avengers so they had the opportunity to add some lines saying thor, cap and banner are off dealing with other things and that shield went undercover/silent after events of Avengers. Anything is better then nothing. What was the point of tying all the stuff together in the phase 1 films, only to ignore it. Seems like they are destroying what they tried so hard to create.

There were some slight references but they could have done something a bit more. I don't feel like messed anything up though.

Well they left a lot for JW to explain. Most specifically how the suits don't break apart like tin cans in avengers 2. Are we supposed to believe that he can go up against thanos or withstand nuclear bomb explosions when they fall apart on contact in IM3.

Check out this unused opening credits. I rather like the art, wish they had used it:

All images are here (in case the gif is too fast for your liking).

I wasn't bothered that The Avengers weren't in this movie at all. But I think they should at least have mentioned why they weren't around, like they're all off-planet or something.

Seriously, an "international terrorist" is threatening America and claiming responsibility for blowing up citizens and Steve Rogers is just sitting around somewhere eating cheeseburgers? Bull and Crap.

I just have to ask this: What was it you were expecting from this summer superhero film?

Personally I feel these should be FUN and I think they accomplished that.

So we make out point of not everyone who hates the movie are these names by calling people who liked it sheep.

Yeah, my point went over your head but that's okay. :peace

Keep dividing everyone into haters and likers, though.
And keep telling us how whatever we feel is fine.

Reality needs your validation, apparently.
(And postwhores gotta post!)

IM1, IM2, Avengers, Spiderman 1,2,3 and reboot, Fantastic Four 1 and 2, Blade 1 and 2, DareDevil, X-men 1,2,3, and prequel, Cap America, Thor, Hulk the Incredible Hulk, Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Begins, TDK, TDKR, Superman 1 and 2 Hellboy 1 and 2 >>>>>>>> IM3, Superman 3, Batman Forever, Wolverine, Superman Returns >>>> Blade 3, Electra, Superman 4, Batman and Robin.

Hmmm. This makes me wonder where i'd rank this movie in a Comic Book/Superheromovie rankings.

You Should make a thread :wink1:

It's always the case that people who don't fawn over such films are labeled haters, trolls, or fanboys.

This is true :(

I thought he was shaping up to a classic villain thus the disappointment. It didn't "ruin" the film as I felt it had more positives than negatives but did take it down a notch.

Indeed, he was shaping up to be the best ACU villain yet.

They did, they mentioned 'when that guy with the hammer came out of the sky and changed everything' or something similiar to that.

You know they exist in the same canon, do you really need reminders in every film?

:lecture This man is on to something.

I don't think they let the much. His suits I don't think fell apart that easy so we will have to agree to disagree on that.

If that's what you want to think. :peace

I'm not dividing anyone. Not once. As I said I'm not terribly concerned about who liked it and didn't.

Whose reality? I get it people didn't like it. Your reality that its not a good film doesn't make it so. Just like my reality that it was doesn't make it so for you. :peace

Hmm, the mark 42 fell apart like a cheap sweater after being hit by a car and at the end of the film when it hit a post/beam on its way to tony. Moreover all the suits were ripped apart by the molten lava soldiers. If heat destroys his suits then the nuke at the end of avengers would have killed him and if a strong kinetic impact can destroy them then thors hammer attack should have pulverized it. There is no continuity here. I am sorry I just can't get passed that and it really pisses me of. Ironman no longer seems powerful after this movie and doesn't seem like he even belongs in the avengers being ripped apart so easily. I won't even bother getting into the remote controlled suit issue and how it takes away all the drama in the scene and completely diminishes the importance of tony stark. Why would he ever get into the suit again when he can just control them from his couch.

funny...complaint after complaint yet the box office is kicking *ss. some people need to realize that the movies AIN'T the comics. they need to.....

Its kicking *** on the coat tails of avengers. Look how well TDkR did based on TDK reputation even though it wasn't as good. People were going to see this all because of the avengers not because of IM2 or the merits of IM3 itself.

Box office is completely immaterial to much of this discussion. Unless you subscribe to the notion that box office = quality (and there is tons of empirical data through the years to suggest that's a laughably false notion) it's useless to even mention it.

No one in here is claiming the filming isn't a financial success.

Exactly. Take me for example. I was SO PUMPED for this movie. I was cursing the rest of the planet because they get to see it earlier than us here on north america. I had multiple viewings planned and everything. Gave them my money, saw it , hated it.

Also, I don't have a single issue with this film not following the comics. All of my problems with it have to do with going off the rails of its own established movie conceits.

There was nobody in it. When he was in it he bounced off the highway like a ping pong ball and it stayed together. Yeah, they're super strong and super heated that alone is a good enough reason, but you have to make them strong in order to sell they're a real issue. He wasn't near the blast though when it went off. It was several hundred miles away and I space. Different set of rules I think. Him not getting into every suit isn't an issue. Happens in the comics.

This is what we all have been saying, but the supporters of this movie keep bringing in comic book crap as the reason we don't like it because they have no answer for why it deviated from its own established movie world.
