Yes, just to recap form earlier in this thread: Nothing matters except the opinion of people in this thread who didn't like the movie.

All else will be ignored or explained away. :D

Exactly. Take me for example. I was SO PUMPED for this movie. I was cursing the rest of the planet because they get to see it earlier than us here on north america. I had multiple viewings planned and everything. Gave them my money, saw it , hated it.

There will be people who do just the opposite. It all works out in the wash.

Yeah, pretty much. I agree with that. Which is why I ignore the box office stuff and never let it affect how I feel about a movie (pro or con). Too many fanboys are starting to act like sports fans when it comes to box office. It's a race! A contest! A measure of validation! Meh. Whatever.

Who said anything even remotely like that? Come on.

Also, I don't have a single issue with this film not following the comics. All of my problems with it have to do with going off the rails of its own established movie conceits.

I will say that then we have to get off Nolan for Batman giving things up. We know Wayne in the comics wouldn't do that but Nolan's Wayne did. What his character did in the movie fits with the odd Wayne we saw in the movies.

This is what we all have been saying, but the supporters of this movie keep bringing in comic book crap as the reason we don't like it because they have no answer for why it deviated from its own established movie world.

Ah the whole I don't agree with it so its crap angle. That's when you know it's time to stop discussing with someone. :lol

Pretty much. I will see this again myself. He'll I had to pay twice to see it one because of events on Friday. I like watching the total to see what movies I see end up at. I go see several each year it's fun to see where things land. It doesn't factor into my like or dislike of a film as you said..

funny...complaint after complaint yet the box office is kicking *ss. some people need to realize that the movies AIN'T the comics. they need to.....

Its kicking *** on the coat tails of avengers. Look how well TDkR did based on TDK reputation even though it wasn't as good. People were going to see this all because of the avengers not because of IM2 or the merits of IM3 itself.

Bingo! :lecture

Box office is completely immaterial to much of this discussion. Unless you subscribe to the notion that box office = quality (and there is tons of empirical data through the years to suggest that's a laughably false notion) it's useless to even mention it.

No one in here is claiming the filming isn't a financial success.

:goodpost::lecture:exactly::lecture:goodpost:

To bring back up the subject of where was Shield/other heros in IM3.

3 letters.

RDJ.

He can carry a movie as the sole big hero.

Look at Cap 2 cast of characters: Fury, Shield, BW, Falcon.

Thor 2: Odin, Loki, Jane, Warrior 3, Shield of some capacity.

You forgot IM2 where shield had a huge presence. Anyhow, I agree that RDJ can carry a movie. IM3 is proof of that. Without him it would have been terrible.

Hope the give in and pay him to come back for a fourth. While there was quite a bit I didn't like about this movie, RDJ's Stark is always fun to watch. They've developed a certain character in a certain universe, and I don't think recasting is an option at this point.
