My friend and I were discussing the latest set photo. He seems to think that the fact that Tony keeps all of his old armors around kind of clashes with his line in Iron Man, "I've been called many things, nostalgic is not one of them."

It's a fair point. He doesn't really need to keep all the old armors. It opens up the possibility of unauthorized usage or theft (despite the fact that he has numerous safeguards in place). If he needs to suit up, he's probably only going to use the latest model. The only one I can see having prolonged practicality is the Mark V since he can use it on the go.

Just something to think about.

He also collects cars, I think the suits would fit under that category.

I see he still hasn't bothered with repairing the Mark III. The Mark VI looks clean as a whistle though. It got busted up pretty bad in The Avengers.

Yeah, it cracks me up that every suit but the MK III is shiny and new. Even the one that got totally destroyed and was made in a cave.

Raza/Stane rebuilt the Mk.1 and had it at Stark Ent. to use as a referance for his suit, Tony probably just took it back before SHIELD could confinscate it.

And from the sounds of things, Tony will fight armored and unarmored people with nanos, not just suits.

I liked Howard much better as Rhodes too.

Me too. The main thing is that Cheadle doesn't have 1/10th the chemistry with RDJ that Howard did. He's also not believable at all as a military badass.

He's a better actor, but he sucks as Rhodey.

BTW, has anyone mentioned how weird it is that Mark II is in there even though it was stolen, stripped and used to build War Machine? What, he went and built a new MKII?

You can totally see what scene this is. He is looking at the bulky mess the suit has become as he has added and added to it over time. He is looking for a solution to make it lighter and faster yet retain its power. That's where the EXTREMIS comes in!

Maybe those suits are 1) prototype shell components put together to see how it would look... or 2) holographic representations of the suits; a library of evolution of sorts.

"Uhm, genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist..."

This is why IRON MAN and The First Avenger is the only good movies from "Marvel Studios independent production".

I am in total agreement.

See, that's the great thing about jye. He posts the things that everyone thinks.

Great stuff. :lol

Same

Don't like Don Cheadle at all as War Machine either. Oh well. Hopefully he's not in it much.

Really? I thought Howard was a wimp. He didn't do anything that impressed me as him being a tough military guy. Either did Cheadle though until he put on the suit. :dunno

Latest set Picts say A.I.M. will play a role in the movie.
...but hopefully sans Modok.
