It sounds like they are trying to slam a bunch of recognizable armors into this under the army that is being "built". I wouldn't be shocked if the other armors were slightly recognizable as well.

I imagine it's IP. If it was Detroit Steel, why not make him more like it? The coloring of the armor looks too much like IP to make me think it's anything other than that.

Looks like War machine redone as Iron Patriot, its obviously not the same Iron Patriot as the comics. At least none of the comics I've read have Iron Patriot looking like that.

Given that in the books the Steel Corps were sold to anyone by Hammer Industries and at the end of IM2, Hammer with the help of Vanko pretty much cracked the IM code and threatened to get back at Stark Industries and Pepper, I wouldn't be shocked if that's how they bridge between the two and it's actually Detroit Steel but keeps the same Iron Man look to it.

My money is on Detroit Steel and not Iron Patriot as Marvel Studios probably won't do anything that would even get Sony buzzing on "well that's Norman Osborn's thing" and attempt to go after them on anything. The drones all had Iron Man styled head before Vanko got in there in terms of the looks and I wouldn't be that surprised if they continued that route.

That could play out really cool IMO. I thought the Detroit Steel aspect based off of what you're saying Mike would be damn cool on screen.

See this is why this worries me, if that's the case then the Iron Man armor is no longer in and of itself anything special. Upto now the suits he's been up against are sort of rough prototypes, much like what he shows everyone on C-Span with Hammer's malfunctioning pilot but a little more refined. Still no where near the level of his own suit really. Anyone can now properly build a suit, which means Stark is what makes it unique and I fear they will indeed make him "superhuman" in terms of his Extremis armor.

Either that or they go the ultra Big Brother route from that point where he had stuff implanted into all Stark Armors or armors based on Stark like tech and ends up being able to control them all like the Stane arc

Not sure about "superhuman," but I can see where all this would push toward the development of a new armor due to the standard armors now being obsolete.

Well thats what I more or less mean likely by the Extremis armor just assembling itself on him due to nanobots in his body, which is alot more superhuman then he is right now.

It would also give a local reasoning for suit upgrades instead of just "Oh this armor is busted" which is a nice change.

Looks like they are jam packing characters into this film. And here I thought that the new female was going to mysteriously be Scarlet Witch since whomever uses her first technically gets to keep her :lol

'We start carrying semi-automatics, they buy automatics'

True, there's always a bigger gun. But Stark's the one to develop them. :wink1:

Except for the "superhuman" aspect, he's pretty much already there from what we saw of the MKVII in Avengers.

Every outlet is not only posting it but posting the pictures without a spoiler tag. We might as well just openly discuss it at this point.

Some are saying it isn't Iron Patriot at all though that it's Detroit Steel

Detroit Steel? Iron Patriot? I need to read up on Iron Man. I've only seen pics of this character online. I always thought that it was something Captain America was wearing made by Stark in the comics, Like that Iron Spider armor I saw Spiderman wear in that cartoon. I haven't read a Marvel comic in a long while.

I'm not familiar enough with the comics to recognize that red, white and blue Iron Man suit, and my first response was that it looked like a parody or something from Power Rangers.

I can get used to it now, but I was definitely surprised and didn't immediately think that it fit in with the level of realism from the previous films. They had a very careful progression with Captain America's costume that made sense for the character, but that patriotic approach with an Iron Man suit just took me by surprise. Looks like something that he would wear in a 4th of July parade or something like that. I assume the context of the film will make it more plausible.
