Very mixed for me, I can't decide if I liked it or hated it.

Yeah, I feel the same... When Gweneth Paltrow's stomach was one of the more memorable moments you just know it's not that great... I said this in the Cantina, it needed more Marvel Universe in it. Why not have Namor? Or some other Avenger? Oh well.

It's like an opportnity to make the marvel film universe deeper was just totally missed... bah.

I felt they did a good job at balancing that actually. I know lot's of people had problems coming out of it because there wasn't any other Avnegers/characters introduced in the avengers movie.
I think that's fine.

They nodded to NY and Thor to let you know this is still the same universe, but man, DAT TWIST.

Perhaps, he wasn't even in the suit for some of the action sequences.

I think I was just expecting Mandarin to be the main baddy. Especially before the twist.

That's what left me hanging. I couldn't believe it.

Gonna go see it again today in about an hour.

Me, I didn't hate it... it's just meh. I was disappointed but overall entertained. But I have zero desire to see it again anytime soon.

Damn, the more I see you guys talk about this, the angrier I get. I finally know what is like to be on the other said. I'm always the one praising movies so it sucks to be one voicing his discontent cause I know it gets old fast. I wish we had gotten the movie we were expecting. I mean, we all saw this trailer and though Tony was gonna be in some deep ****. Instead we get this dumb plot, full of comedy (mostly good comedy, but too much for my taste).

LOL!!! Great Minds my friend. You must have posted this while I was looking for the other trailer. Agree with most of what you say. Accept about the Comedy being good... It was the worst of all the Stark films.

Nope not a chance. Well for a fair portion of us I'd venture to guess.

Again, alien technology and alternate dimensions are one thing, Earth-based stuff like that is another. I believe in quantum mechanics and theory, so I can actually suspend disbelief for aliens and extra-dimensional beings and space-time continuum stuff. But regular people doing physiologically impossible things? Nah. Lose me there. Even Cap and Hulk can be too much for me, at times. But they've never quite jumped the shark like this Extremis stuff... At least not in the movies (yet).

In Iron Man 3 there are normal human beings who heat up into lava and breathe fire because of a formula concocted by Ben Affleck's toonie girlfriend. That's why it's lame for some of us. There has to be at least a single thread of credibility.

I guess it comes down to how much comic stuff you're willing to accept into the real world. For me if I'm going to accept the things we've seen in the avengers, Captain America, Thor, and both Iron Man films I can accept the extremis stuff. Its really crazier than what I read in those comics nor in the bleeding edge stuff. If people didn't like IM3 and think its too crazy if they go Bleeding Edge/Extremis Armor people are gonna HATE seeing that in the movies.

You may have still enjoyed it but that was not the same film that we ended up seeing.

I know it's not the first times trailers have done this but they made it look Epic and Dark. Two things IM3 was far from doing (after the first half hour)
