Well, we will have to agree to disagree. The trailers sold me exactly what I got when I saw it last weekend.

I feel pretty much the same. I didn't feel the like the trailer was a bait and hook trick. Not as far as tone or style.

And I agree that it's better that the trailer not give everything away. It teased enough for me to be excited about the movie, and it delivered all that plus some unexpected surprises. Which is a good thing.

The best thing about this was it was 100% Tony Stark/Iron Man. It disn't compromise or force Avenger business into it

I disagree. If these movies are supposed to be as connected as they said they want them to be then they should have sprinkled a little more Avengers here and there. I noticed they carefully edited all of Tony Stark Avengers flashbacks/memories to leave out Cap, Thor, Hulk and others.

Yeah, like how Tony Stark spends half the movie hanging out and talking to some kid. Trailer totally prepared me for that.

Its not half the movie but we'll roll with that. Also, do you want the trailer to spill the entire movie? Sounds like you're a bit sore that it didn't.

Well, it's completely different from both, and every solo avengers movie so far. I don't think it was anything like first.

Right from the first page of this thread from 2010 JF interview:

"He notes that “the problem with The Mandarin is, the way it’s depicted in the comic books, you don’t want to see that. He also has 10 magical rings, and it just doesn’t feel right for our thing, so it’s either tech-based or the rings are not really rings.”

And yet nothing in the movie about the rings. Man, they should have gone with that. It could have tied in with Thor perfectly.

Thor proved what humans thought was magic was really science.

Rings should've been used. :gah:

Rings had to be used. They could have still made the dragon dewd the main baddy, and mandarin just the face of him (keep mandarin a bad *** though). I can't help but feel robbed. He was the coolest comic book villain since TDK.
