Of course, people love RDJ whereas there are more people who respect Norton but don't generally care for him. It's not a money thing, RDJ's contracts already given him 5-7% of the backends but more of a respect thing I'm assuming. Feige doesn't seem to be giving it and if he plays hardball with RDJ then he'll walk no problem.

I agree if he lets rdj walk it will be the biggest mistake he will ever professionally make.

Yeah IM2 was a shell and that's Feige's fault as well. Favreau had a plan to bridge the two films and filmed them in a way that the story started in IM2 would complete in IM3 but then it all went south. Now IM3 is starting fresh and IM2 is left looking disjointed.

I'd even argue that RDJ is as much Tony Stark/Iron Man as Ford is Indiana Jones.

I agree with that to a point. The biggest difference, of course, is that Tony Stark/Iron Man existed in different media for 4 decades before the first film, whereas Ford has always been THE original Indiana Jones.

But, yes, RDJ now owns this role on the silver screen. Feige is kidding himself if he thinks they can easily Bondify the role. For starters, they'll lose RDJ's likability and charisma instantly pretty much no matter who else they cast. And you can't measure that, nor its relative value.

If RDJ walks, or is locked out, they might as well reboot the entire current Marvel movieverse and start from scratch. And that's not hyperbole.

I think it holds a lot closer to Indy though. Until the movie came out, IM was essentially a B-lister. The Civil War storyline made him all but hated by most Marvel fans. The movie re-introduced a lot of fans to the character and opened up audience's eyes to a character unknown to the general public.

To whom? Comic fans before Civil War, he was already an A-lister, mainstream people sure. And you mean Civil War made him hated right?

Even Marvel considered him a B-List character before 2008. They've been quoted multiples in saying so. They considered Thor that way as well. It's one of the reasons why the "Hipster" reaction was there after the film brought new fans. Now Civil War made him definitely hated but the film universe propelled him into the top tiers. Before the film his books were struggling. Now he seems to be in multiple books and appearances, a place usually kept sacred for Wolverine or Spider-Man (the real top tier A listers in the Marvel U)

Which gave him fans like Josh. :lol

I don't think I would go to see the movie if someone else was playing the part. I like the way RDJ plays it too much. I'm sure others said the same thing when Moore took over the part of Bond. Hopfully they won't make us choose.

I really think its been the supporting cast that has made the Batman movies great not Bale. I think he can easily be replaced.

What a farce. RDJ made these Marvel movies possible. They cast the wrong guy in IM1 and the rest are never made when IM tanks
