Official Synopsis:

Marvel Studios’ Iron Man 3 pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?

Starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale with Jon Favreau and Ben Kingsley, Iron Man 3 is directed by Shane Black from a screenplay by Drew Pearce and Shane Black and is based on Marvel’s iconic Super Hero Iron Man, who first appeared on the pages of Tales of Suspense (#39) in 1963 and had his solo comic book debut with The Invincible Iron Man (#1) in May of 1968.

Iron Man 3 is presented by Marvel Studios in association with Paramount Pictures and DMG Entertainment. Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige is producing and Jon Favreau, Louis D’Esposito, Stephen Broussard, Victoria Alonso, Alan Fine, Charles Newirth, Stan Lee and Dan Mintz are executive producers. The film releases May 3, 2013, and is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

hopefully this film is as dramatic as it looks. This seems to have a pretty intense vibe to it. is this the new direction of Phase two in marvel? if so consider me excited.

Ironman 3 starring Guy Pearce, and Ben Kingsley...heck yes. :)
I think this will be the best Marvel movie put out since Ironman 2, lol.
That Patriot suit looks beautiful and I already count at least 3 new Hot Toys figures for this movie, ;)
It would be nice if Sideshow did a 1/4 scale sculpture of the Patriot suit Ironman. I do not own a single Ironman figure or sculpt...I think I will wait until Sideshow puts out some stuff after part 3 is out.
Every Ironman fan like myself should at least have one Ironman figure...I just do not like the cheap plastic from Hot Toys and am not too happy with Sideshow's Polystone version...the one I like I am not paying $2000.00 for...so like I said I'll just wait and see what Hot Toys and Sideshow has to offer down the road.
...however it does appear that we will be getting another kickass Ironman movie...have to go read up more as I am curious as to who the Mandarin villain really is. Well, here is a small amount of info:

Iron Man 3 Day continues apace with EW unveiling the first look at Sir Ben Kingsley's Mandarin, the bad guy set to put Tony Stark through his paces over the course of the highly-anticipated threequel.

The character of The Mandarin was considered by many (including writer/director Shane Black) as too racially insensitive to be portrayed on screen, but Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige has explained how Sir Ben is going to play the originally Oriental baddie: by not actually being Chinese.

“It’s less about his specific ethnicity than the symbolism of various cultures and iconography that he perverts for his own end,” Feige told EW.

As the hidden, shadowy manipulator whose helped The Ten Rings terrorists in the first film and aided Whiplash magically get to Monaco with a huge amount of very dangerous equipment get revenge against the man with the coolest beard in the Marvel universe (sorry Mr. Fury), it is only now that Mr. Stark's archenemy has let his presence become known.

To get a better feel for Madarin's dark look on life, remember that back in the Comic-Con footage Empire saw earlier this year, his lines were these: “Some people call me a terrorist. I consider myself a teacher,” and “Lesson number one: Heroes – there is no such thing.”

With Sir Ben Kingsley going full bad guy again, fans can only hope he can be more Don from Sexy Beast than Gandhi from, um, Gandhi. Or, for that matter, Mizam from Prince Of Persia.

I wonder how liberally the writers will be taking from the recent IM comics. The first few shots look exactly like they were from the panels of a recent Matt Fraction Invincible IM arc (Stark Dissassembled, I think), and there's a couple shots of the new assembled IM suit moving on its own. Could be a dream, or an antagonist wearing it, but if it is remote/AI controlled, I bet they'd take a page from the finale of the Ezekiel Stane arc, also from Fraction.

Then on top of that, Mandarin and Iron Patriot, pseudo-Extremis, and Maya Hansen. I don't know who Guy Pearce is supposed to be, yet.

This film already feels stuffed to the gills.

Mandarin seems cool as Hell to me...even though he will not be portrayed exactly as he was in the comics:

“Some people call me a terrorist. I consider myself a teacher,” The Mandarin snarled in footage from the movie previewed last July at Comic-Con. “Lesson #1: Heroes – there is no such thing.”
The thing about our dear teacher The Mandarin is, he knows the world is going to need more than one lesson. And he’s going to make sure we get more than one lesson (to paraphrase a classic line from Citizen Kane.)
In the comic books, The Mandarin was a Chinese exile who ventures into a remote, forbidden valley and discovers a crashed alien spaceship. Inside the ship are ten rings, each with a different power, which allow him to seek revenge on a world he considers unjust.
But this version of The Mandarin will not follow that same backstory, said Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios. Don’t expect aliens, even though The Avengers and Thor opened up this unified cinematic world to the presence of extra-terrestrials.
Iron Man 3 will be more about a clash of technology, Feige says and those who have been paying close attention to the previous two films know that The Ten Rings is a term for the terrorist group that kidnapped Tony Stark in the first movie, and gave the villain Whiplash some assistance in the sequel.
In that way, The Mandarin (who for a time was going to be the main villain in the first film) has been a part of the Iron Man series from the beginning, albeit as the off-screen manipulator.
Kingsley is not, of course, Chinese, but Feige says they wanted to blur the background of this version of The Mandarin. “It’s less about his specific ethnicity than the symbolism of various cultures and iconography that he perverts for his own end,” Feige says. From his samurai hair, to his royal robe, to his bin Laden-esque beard, and the AK-47 he keeps at his side, Kingsley’s interpretation is a hodgepodge of various warrior motifs.
In his attempt to rid the world of its oppressors by replacing them, The Mandarin considers himself a twisted version of absolute good.
“Don’t all good villains?” says Feige.

The new War Machine looks great, as does the new Iron Man suit, i'll enjoy seeing them in action, but frankly i'm bored of Tony Stark by now, the novelty of this cocky arrogant anti-hero has worn off fast.

I'll catch this on TV.

Nah.

You just mad cause HT will delay other licenses and will make more iron man suits, which is fine with me :rock

Looks better than any Marvel film to date

Did you notice at the end? they use the same sound that at the end of the TDKR's teaser? :)

Mindblowing trailer, I like it A LOT!
I can't wait! The real ironman II for me!

Bring it on!

Sentient Armor?? Could just be a nightmare since he talks about having them in the trailer, but it'd be awesome to include that arc.
